Two couples from MICHIGAN
« on: April 18, 2017, 12:02:35 am »
Yesterday l was in the area in TOKYO  popular with tourists.   I was standing in the corner waiting for the rain to stop.  A very kind-and gentle-looking middle-aged woman talked to me.  She said, Do you speak English?  (*^^*)(^-^)
She was with three other people with suitcases and apparently they had landed in Japan a few hours before and had just arrived in downtown.  DELTA stickers on their bags.  Anyway they were looking for their hotel.   To my question  as to where they were from, one of the men answered;
near Chicago.  So l said, Oh;  lllinois.  They were from MICHIGAN but the man, l think, thought l didn't know that name. He said they had come from a place called MICHIGAN.   In the end, they looked double surprised to know l had been not only to Detroit but also to Ann
Arbor, Lancing, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids.

Please see my profile down below. (^-^)

Lets see if I can get this one right

some times I can be impolite when the mood hits me

one time I was walking up this hill from down town this couple in car stop and ask do you know were the so and so is. I think for moment and look at them. while I am thinking they say you live here and you do not know where the so and so is. I say witch one there is one a bit north and one west of here and one do south by the such and such. They look confused a bit stumped and say the one by the such and such. I say it is do south about 4 miles down the coast . They say could you give driving directions. I say I could but right now I am not feeling up to it. I pointed south and said Head over that direction and ask someone else and try to be more polite. now that I look back at it and give it more thought I should have pointed north and really sent them on journey.

I know I am a jerk.

I really did not want to give them the short local route or the longer less complicated tourist route. I just figured they would find someone else and be more polite

here is a good one about being a tourist I had a job interview with the chief engineer aboard the pacific princess cruise ship in the med. I was  to meet him at the London pride pub in Haifa Israel before ten on the day my ship arrived. I made the mistake of asking a cab driver for directions He says get in  I take you there. I get in he takes me to the outskirts of town drops me off. He then says fifteen dollars and I say where is the pub he says across the street just over there.
NO pub it takes me another half hour to figure out how to get back  and then another half hour to get back  to the pier where the pub was right next to the pier my ship was and it was ten fifteen when I got there. The guy I was going to meet was gone, his ship was gone and my opportunity gone.

life ruined by taxi cab driver.

0 people reading this I guess I scared everyone off
