An early 1980’s treatment involving photo processing liquid
« on: October 23, 2018, 02:14:29 pm »
I was explaining to a young friend about the early days of HIV and some of the questionable treatments of the day. I myself, did a treatment which consisted of painting on a kodak film processing liquid which resulted in a nasty skin burn - the reaction was thought to ‘stimulate’ the immune system. I can’t think of the name of that liquid or what the ‘treatment’ was called do any of you know the name it went by?
Of course, it was a different time and we were thankful for anything to try.

It's called DNCB (dinitrochlorobenzene).

It was a time of horrific desperation--and courage.  Those of us who lived through it have never really recovered.  Anything remotely possible was tried.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, DNCB, I remember now.  Those were some dark days.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.  It is appreciated

LOL I remember those times.  I'd mainly heard of that as being a KS treatment.

There was a lot of quite totally unproved stuff being tried. Electric currents magnets ozone, egg yolks, Chinese herbs, reiki, drinking hydrogen peroxide to treat candida... ugh the shit we did to ourselves, and yet here we are.
