Need some advices?
« on: August 06, 2006, 07:57:36 pm »
Hi, i am newbie,

I had my first encounter with two sexual workers 8 weeks ago (my first time, i was curious, now i learnt that curiousity kills the cat). I am straight, cimcurcized and Both are protected, no kissing, no blowjobs(since i told them no). since, my encounter i had been devastated mentally. i went to the clinic at day one. and got my result for clamydia neg. at two weeks, i test for std and hiv, all are negative. at four weeks, i had ubigold blood test for hiv, which was neg. and i am waiting for my 8 weeks, 5 days for another test this coming monday.

The thing that worried me is:

1) one of the provider hid the condome in her mouth, she kept it, before putting it on me. Does this increases my chance of getting hiv?
2) another thing, i had been experiencing night sweats, without fever, i checked my body temp which is 35.4 or 36 in celcius. so far, as far i remembered, i havent any high fevers? the night sweats that i experienced comes on and off? is this a ars symptons?

Plse, I am really looking forward to hear from you all? i am all alone in this country. . .

Warmest Regard

You had protected sex and having the condom in her mouth is nothing to worry about. Keep using the condoms and continue to play safe.

I urge you to read the lessons regarding HIV transmission on this site. They really are some of the better written and straightforward things you will encounter regarding HIV.

You had absolutely NO risk for HIV in the incident you described. Putting a condom on via the mouth is a cool trick, and one that I used to recommend as part of foreplay for safer sex. It is in NO WAY an HIV threat. Saliva is absolutely NOT infectious.

If you wear a condom for penetrative vaginal/anal sex, you have protected yourself against HIV.

Since you didn't have a risk, we would expect a negative result.

I am sorry you are experiencing night sweats. If they are anything like people with HIV get, you probably have to change your soaked sheets and air out the mattress the next day to avoid mold/mildew developing, not to mention the increasingly horrific smell of a quart of sweat.

Many other things besides HIV can cause night sweats, from serious illnesses to stress.

Whatever is going on, it is absolutely NOT HIV.

If you had protected sex as you stated. Then collect your negative result.

Dear Ann, Rod, and other helpers,

I really worry about myself. all these times, as far i know, i always had protected sex, even when i received blowjobs. i am straights, and circumsized. I fingered someone, but i had a fresh cut, i know that new cuts near my nail has a lower rate of hiv infection, the incident happened somewhere in November. however, on 30 dec 2006, i had a bad sore throat, with thick mucus in it. and since then, i got cough up to this point. i went to the doctor, he gave antibiotic. indeed, the sore throat has subsided, but the  cough, light, still persist. is three weeks cough a symptom of HIV? i am really scared..... pls enlightened me.
am i at risk?

Like before you have not had a risk. Whatever is going on with you has nothing to do with HIV.

No prayers are needed.  You are negative.

thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A

Acink,

Thank you for reassuring me. may the king of the universe bless you.  :)
the cough has subsided, i finished a bottle of my cough medicine, perhaps, my cough was caused by dry weather.
but definetly, i will get my yearly check up soon.
all the best there,

Ho, you've been coming here long enough to know by now that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know about HIV status. When there has been a real risk only testing at the appropriate time will give you a reliable answer.

But you haven't had any risks for transmission. You've very wisely been using a condom everytime for intercourse. They provide very effective protection, whether you are with a professional or a civilian. None of the other activities you have mentioned would have put you at risk for HIV.

In general we do recommend that anyone who's sexually active should have a full STD panel at least annually.

You're relatively new to this kind of sexual activity. I'm wondering if you have some feelings about being with professional sex workers which is ratcheting up your anxiety or otherwise troubling you. The important thing is that you are using condoms everytime. And that's what you need to do no matter whom you are with. Period.

Nothing you have reported symptomatically is in any way suggestive of HIV to me so I expect you to continue to collect negative test results.

Andy, and other moderators,

I almost got my result today, but the doctor told me to come to see him tomorrow, his nurse told me.
I was scared like a little chicken, and i asked bout the HIV result, the nurse just said, "he didn't say anything about it, doctor just want to see regarding your cholestrol.'

Do you think my doctor hides the result for me, andy, ann, rapidrod, jkt, or acink, pls tell me whether this is a good sign or a bad one....
I really need your guys opinion, i was driving and almost crashed because of the fear of the news....

Why on earth would a doctor hide a result? Like his nurse stated, he wants to talk to you about your cholestrol.
You didn't have a risk so he is not going to talk to you about being positive.

Rapidrod,
what you said is making sense, but perhaps or maybe the doctor wants to say the bad result in person. or is this my irrational fear...?

ps'to fellows people outhere who are afraid to check your status, you gotta check your status: go to doctor, it is better to know rather not knowing. and always read the to the lesson that was being provided by the admistrator. trust them. and always,Compulsory, to always use condom and proper lube when you are having sex with anyone, unless your wife or someone you are planning to live and spend the rest of your life till death do us part. remember to use condom(latex) for the best protection'
