PEP treatment?
« on: July 09, 2008, 01:55:40 pm »
Thanks for your words of wisdom, Ann

Yes, I am taking the PEP treatment. After a few awful days, the side-effects are now manageable.  I'm moderately hopeful about the outcome, but I'll keep you posted.

After much soul-searching, I've decided I won't press charge and I won't tell my BF.  He can become agressive sometimes, and this is the last thing I need right now.  Of course, I won't do anything to put him at risk.

Wether the results turn out + or -, this is giving me a new awareness on what people living with HIV are going trough. I'd like to help, but I don't know how.  Any suggestion for someone who wants to volunteer in Pittsburgh?

HB,

1, Odds, smoods. PEP is a definite option in your situation, but if he didn't cum in your ass, I wouldn't bother.

2. That's up to you how you tell your boyfriend.

3. Were you raped?

At one point, he offered to fuck me.  I don’t usually bottom, but I said yes.

No, you weren't raped. Saying yes means you had consensual sex. As a "bottom" myself, I know it's possible to make certain there's a condom on that cock. I do it everytime I'm with a neggie. To protect THEM.

Go for PEP if you want. You need to start at no more than 72 hours after the event. 24 hours is best.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I would say you had a risk for exposure and you need to test at 13 weeks. I think you will come out of this okay.  Especially if he didn't come inside you.
I'm not one to lecture but typically you know when someone starts penetration with a condom on, and you know when it breaks!  I suspect that the drug induced state may have impaired your awareness about what was actually happening but that's the past, learn from it!
You are much more likely to need to be concerned about other std's that are easier to contract.
As far as being on a campaign to "Stop" this guy, what's the point?  Move on with your life.
If,  in the unlikey chance you ever test positive for HIV you will never be considered "unclean" if you shower daily!

Warmest Regards,

Kent
