Coffee and alcohol.
« on: May 28, 2018, 12:18:59 pm »
Hello, jason here.
So i wonder if coffee and alcohol are ok. Im 26 cd4 250 (avarage) and i drink half a thermos off black coffe no sugar every day and a single beer everyday. I take trivicay and descovy in the afternoons as my doctor recommended i limit calcium in the hours before and after taking my daily dose. I also have a beer after getting off work just one 12oz sone times a 16oz if im having a large dinner. I struggle with depression and routine has really saved me. Is this ok and or safe.

Yes, you are fine:  everything in moderation, as the adage goes.

Coffee intake and moderate use of alcohol does not affect your antiretrovirals from metabolizing properly.

Do be mindful of your depression and take care to treat it: your mental health is as important to you as adhering to your antiretroviral regimen.
