coffee house jerks

Saturday I experienced a little sadness brought on by loneliness see post:

http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=9857.0

and a desire to have a special someone in my life.  I got many encouraging responses, one of which (thanks Eric) suggested putting my self out there more.  Notice I did not say putting out more, that's what got me here in the first place.  And besides that is the easy part.

Anyway Sunday afternoon I decided to do just that (not put out, but get out more) and went to the gayest coffee shop (not a Starbucks) in the city.  That was a pretty big deal because the last time I was there I was rejected by a chair.  Seriously, that day the place was very crowded and a guy was sitting by himself working on his computer, there was an empty chair at his table and I politely asked if the chair was taken, he said, "No", so I asked if he cared if I sat to which he replied, "YES".  Now understand me approaching a complete stranger with that simple question was not easy and then for him to say no, I was crushed.

Tossing that bad experience aside I went anyway.  Wasn't very crowded, grabbed a paper and Jones soda (I hate coffee) found a seat and began reading, well actually cruising.  A little later this attractive guy sat across from me and we began talking.  Very pleasant conversation, kind of flirtatious.  When I told him I needed to go and then began to leave 45 mins later, he said I should give him a call sometime and then he gave me his number.  Everything was initiated by him.  When I got home last night I thought well why not call.  Guess what, the number was not his.

Will this prevent me from trying to meet other guys, of course not.  But From now on I will go to Starbucks for my Jones Soda.
