Hypocrisy...............
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:29:18 AM »
...................is alive and well here in these forums just as it exits in others.

Apparently, it's okay to voice your opinion about a writer as long as that writer is not a member of this forum.

It's okay to state that you think someone's dispute is a "pissing match," at the end of a thread and then deem it necessary to shut down the thread.  My opinion of that is that this person is saying, "I'll have the last word and shut you down as I have the power."  Yes, Ann, that would be you.  Apparently you're just as capable of sarcasm as anyone else here.

It's okay for people to put you down as they think you've put someone else down.  Then the same people are sure to offer condolences to the injured party as someone they have been drinking with almost dies but is saved because the other party hasn't passed out.  Meanwhile no condolences are extended when another party has mentioned that family members
have actually committed suicide.  But, of course that has been many years ago, so why bother, right?

One person admits they like to irritate people and then they are praised for their many good deeds.

Where would our world be if people didn't question things, if we just believe what people tell us?
How many things wouldn't change if people didn't stand up for what they believe?

How many conversations will there be about the upcoming Discovery show about the discovered tombs that may or may not be the tomb of Jesus and his family?

How many people will think they are right and they know the truth?

How many people will have an open mind and make their own decisions?

How many people would like to shut the show down and never have it aired?

I for one am glad that at least in some places in the world, some things and some voices just don't get shut down because someone doesnt like what someone is saying or how they are saying it.

We promote the idea that as people living with HIV/AIDS that we should be heard and that we are our own best health advocates as many of us are not heard by our doctors our feel ignored as we tell of our symptoms......................yet, it's so easy to end a thread here on this forum.

I've been told myself that I should show I have a vested interest in people with HIV.  Well, I'm sorry you didn't see that I've volunteered to make myself sick by agreeing to an experimental treatment, that may or may not do myself any good, but benefit others in the future.  Even if it's to know that it's something that doesn't work.  And I've been accused of not getting to know someone, and that person hasn't attempted to get to know me.  That is not to say that some here have, for which I am grateful.

Perhaps I'll get a time out, or be admonished by a "moderator."  Frankly, I dont care.  While I've stated how I felt about what someone wrote, I didn't feel the need to have a moderator intervene and decide that I or anyone else has spoken enough.

Apparently, there is no end to the amount of profanity that may be used here in these forums.  Just don't dare to have a "pissing match" with anyone!

It's interesting, can't a person decided to read what they want here as well as what they watch on tv.  If  you don't like something or are tired of something, don't go to it.  If you feel you have something to say about it, shouldn't you be able to.........................

..................apparently not!
