There are different types of anemia. Has the doctor diagnosed anemia? Are your iron levels low? There are many causes for fatigue...hiv itself, anemia, depression, side effects of meds.

Personally, I am anemic, but my iron levels are completely normal. My anemia is a side effect from Valcyte, a medication for CMV.

I would check with your doctor first before taking the iron.
