Al, have you tried contacting any HIV/AIDS service organization in your area to get some support? They often offer counseling and other services.

Where are you located?

Al, I'm sorry to hear that you and your wife have been feeling this low. It's possible that you are clinically depressed -- crying a lot for long periods, and feeling anxious and generally "blue" are some of the symptoms. But you need a qualified medical professional to make that diagnosis.

Rest assured, depression is TREATABLE. You're NOT going crazy. If you read around these forums, you'll find that a lot of people experience, or have experienced, feelings similar to yours. Fighting HIV is a psychological battle as well.

Can doctor or nurse, the one who diagnosed you or who takes your labs, arrange a consultation with a psychologist and/or psychiatrist?

And to answer your main question: there are lots of online support groups for people dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, and so on. If you simply Google "depression support groups" you'll see what I mean. One site I used to visit regularly was www.dr-bob.org -- it deals mainly with psychiatric medication issues.

Please do keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

Jay

Edited to add:

Aleksandr, I just read through your previous posts, and I now understand your situation a lot better. Despite how sorry I am for what you're going through, I am really glad you found these forums. They are an amazing source of support for lots of people.

In your situation, without any meaningfull access to a therapist or psychiatrist, I personally would consider self-medicating myself for depression. I'm not advocating that you do so. But if that is something you can do and would consider -- buy anti-depressants and take them with online support and suggestions -- private message me and we can talk about options.

Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

George Eliot, Middlemarch, final paragraph

Alexsandr, I've now also read your previous posts.

I'm wondering where you were diagnosed HIV+. If it was through a medical source I am wondering if there might be some help for you there.

If you can, please tell us in more detail about your circumstances, and if you do that take some good deep and slow breaths while you are writing. (And try to remember to do that whenever you're anxious or feeling upset. It's amazing how helpful it can be in interrupting a cycle of anxiety and tears).

Take your time and just talk to us as simply and as plainly as you can. Think of it as a conversation with us. I think you might find it helpful to do that. When we're upset as you are things just keep running around in our heads and we think mostly of all the worst possibilities. Putting your thoughts into words can help.

We're here and we're listening to you.

OVERHERE  99% OF PRIVATE PRACTICIONERS/DOCTORS DO NOT WANNA MESS UP WITH hiv+ BECAUSE THEY WOULD LOOSE THEIR NORMAL PATIENTS IF A RUMOUR SPREAD UP....................
SOME SAYS THAT YOU DON`T HAVE TO DISCLOSURE YOUR STATUS...
BUT WITH YOUR SCHRINK THERE IS NO OPTION , IF HE ASK YOU ABOUT A CAUSE OF YOUR DEPRESSION...........................
