hopefully it is not possible
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:10:57 PM »
to make a long story short i went home with a guy a week ago of undisclosed HIV status.  it was a one night stand sort of a thing.  we did not necessarily have intercourse but we did rub against each other with our clothes off.  he fingered me and wanted to have intercourse but i said no because we had no condoms.  we did hold each other close and he ejaculated on my groin area and my leg (without penetration).  we did not shower afterwards.  we slept til the morn.  i regret that i might have put myself at risk.  might i have HIV from this moment?

NO, you were never at risk. Please read the "Welcome" thread and follow the link to transmission.

No, the virus could not crawl up into your vagina and infect you that way.  The virus doesn't have a diabolical plan in mind to make its way into your body.  It can only travel by means of direct body fluid tansmission...within the body.  It doesn't soak through skin to infect, and it certainly doesn't make a pilgrimage for that purpose.

Kathy, you were not at risk for HIV transmission during this recent incident.

But, this epidemic is going to be aorund for a longtime to come. No one can afford to be ignorant of the real means of transmission. Please read the lessons on transmission and testing on this site. You'll get all the basics there. There's a link to them in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

By getting that information down and following safer sex guidelines consistently you can protect your health, enjoy yourself sexually and be spared the kind of unnecessary worry you have been experiencing.

Unprotected intercourse is the major risk for transmission. Everything else is more risky theoretically than in actuality. But read the lessons and get the whole deal.

This time out there's no cause for concern.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Kathy it doesnt quite work like that as others have said.  I just wanted to add GOOD FOR YOU for not moving forward without protection.  Your health and your life are worth the wait!

Stay protected and have a full STD panel done at least once a year if not every 6 months if you are sexually active.

You are really something else, you know that?

Can I ask why you are using different usernames while posting to our forums? Thus far, you have also used  jakecalvin, jakecalvin - second thread, bonniet, mandyo, rileyquinn and one you didn't activate - lizari.

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread, which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

Normally, at this point I say;

"I would appreciate a reply to this message, and I hope you will commit to using just one account - preferably your original one. If not, you will be banned from further access to the forums."

But this time, you know what? Don't bother answering. I'm banning you. You've had since you first joined on January 2nd to learn the rules of this forum. You have agreed SIX TIMES to the Terms of Membership for these forums. You have NO excuse.

Considering the content of your threads, I suggest there is nothing we can do for you anyway. Please seek some professional mental health care. AIDSmeds.com is not a mental health care service.

Phooey.

I was just DYING to be a whole lot more savage in my reply last night, but didn't on principle.  Shame to think I missed an opportunity on someone that deserved the boot anyway!  Something smelled about that post when I read it.  I stewed on it for awhile, and decided to leave my reply as it was.

The risk of running off legitimate posters by appearing rotten wasn't worth it.
