Photot of Dallan (my special baby)
« on: January 16, 2007, 07:28:38 PM »
Hi there

I picked up my little boy yesterday, he knows my voice now and even though he can't see me, he follows me around, he knows exactly where I am in the paddock..the others seem to have taken to him but it will take a few days for them to get used to the new kid on the block.

Hugs
Jan :-*

You should be deemed the Saint of Alpacas. I'm wondering how he follows you around, does he listen to the sound of your voice? You rock!

He's beautiful Jan!   Here's a little prayer for our Dallan:

Creator God all things belong to you. We praise you for giving
us the animals, birds and fish which fill your world. We thank you for our families and the happiness which our pets give us. We ask you, Lord, that we may always be good to them, so that they may be happy also. We pray that all your children
may come into your even greater world of the kingdom of heaven where we shall see even more wonderful things and where we shall live and love for ever. This we ask to your eternal praise, and to our blessing. Amen

A beautiful pair that's for sure.

I read a blurb from an Australian site that said this:

Sydney, a blind Alpaca rescued by Lost and Found Horse Rescue, and his "seeing eye" sheep Buttons are inseparable friends. When realizing the alpaca was blind, Tracy Young attached a bell to Buttons so that the alpaca could follow the sheep around by listening to the ringing. About four years later, Sydney doesn't need the bell to stay along side his friend, being able to "sense" the sheep according to Young. John Pavoncello photo.

The link shows the sheep and the alpaca:

So guess Jan will have to wear a bell or get a sheep huh:)  Good luck and thanks for taking care of the critter - it's a great thing you have done.
And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace
I could see the lightning; somewhere in the east
And I wished for affection, and I wished for calm
As I lay there - Nervous in the light of dawn

You have no idea what I have to do with the peanut butter to get my roommate's cat to pay attention to me...  I can't imagine... :)

Keep it up Jan!!! You may answer the door to a fat broad and a weasel one of these days!
He's lovely, and so are you, but you should already know I think that.
We could put a little bell around sweetie's neck, she's used to them. ::)

Jan is even more beautiful in person. You need to make it to the next AMG so you can meet her.

Jan, Dallon is a cutie! I know he is in a good home now.

Love,

Dallan is beautiful and how wonderful it is that you've given him a home.  He may be sightless, but man is that animal ever blessed.

BTW--YOU LOOK MAHVELOUS!  Seriously, your beauty just pops off the damn screen.

Hi everyone

Sorry it took me so long in getting back to you all, I have been busy with animals and friends from Australia...and you guys certainly know how to make a lady feel good.

Thank you all for your compliments, I'm lucky I have a good camera, and being inside a dark covered trailer helps hide the wrinkles..oh and it gives grey hair a nice blond look.. :D ;)

Alan Thank you for the beautiful prayer..your namesake is settling down well, the others are a little hard on him at times but they are just letting him know where his place is in the herd..he won't come to any harm.

Lisa you are one cuddly broad that would be welcome at my home anytime..and sweetie to of course.

Thanks again to you all.

With love and hugs
Jan :-*
