I've been on lots of trials in the past 18 years. Here are some questions that come to mind. I'm sure other forum members can add to this list.

-What drug is the trial for, and what class is the drug in (NRTI, NNRTI, protease inhibitor, entry inhibitor, fusion inhibitor?)

-Is there a chance that you will be getting a placebo?

-Are you allowed to take other HIV drugs during the trial, or will you be on monotherapy? (Monotherapy is a bad idea.)

-What are the potential benefits to you? What are the potential dangers?

-Is there a combination of drugs that are currently approved that would take your VL to undetectable? (If so, why are you going in the trial?)

-If you do not respond to this drug, could it cause resistance to other drugs?

-What side effects have been noted so far?

-After the trial ends, will you be supplied with the drug until it is approved?
