running naked along a beach at night with a boy named john...under full, bright moonlight.  rushing into the warm waves and then passionately kissing while we rolled over each other on the sand with the tide water sliding along underneath us on the shore, and the summer winds caressing over us.  all of this likely under the watchful eye of the secret service, mind you.  it was on an island where al gore was staying at the time.  there was a boat just off shore that kept a light shined directly on the house he was staying in.  this was a bit pre-9/11, but i am still fairly certain there was someone keeping an eye on us while we made love in the sands.  we weren't but a few houses down from his place.

that romantic enough?

I remember running through an NY subway station with someone I was very much in love with... we had just left this Cuban bistro in the city and were pretty far gone on sangria... it was a beautiful day outside, and we ran down into the station, swiped through the turnstile and kept yelling, "We have to be at hair and makeup in 15 minutes!" as we ran, holding hands, to catch a train.  We got on the subway and kissed each other rather lightly on the cheeks, completely oblivious to everyone around us.

We felt so young and beautiful... it was sort of perfect in a strange way.  Which are the best ways to me.

hmm, one thing came to mind quickly.

I had been taking night classes after work and studying for 6 months to take a promotional test for work. The test was a Saturday morning , for 4 hours. Since my bf (at the time) lived an hour and a half away from me, he wasn't going to come out til afterwards and he knew I was home.

I called him on my cell phone to tell him I was out of the test and headed home, so he could head out. He said he was packing (for the weekend) and would be leaving soon.

I pulled in my driveway, and sure enough, he was already in my house, Balloons, cards, Pizza and beer to celebrate that the test was over! :D

Without a doubt it was the Sat afternoon I picked up this gorgeous blond in a bar after playing 18 holes. We took her car from the bar and I drove. As we were pulling out of the lot she hiked up her dress and ripped off her underwear in broad daylight. She began to furiously play with her area with her feet on the dashboard, moaning for me to fuck her, of course I was blind drunk and was trying to keep her big yellow caddy on the highway at this very romantic moment.  She tore her clothes off as we entered her townhouse in the Galleria area and we fucked for what seem liked an hour and she began to dry out down there so she grabbed a open beer I had left next to the bed and poured it over her area for lubrication. Can't get much more romantic than that. But it does. We dressed and moved downstairs and lo and behold there is her room mate watching TV. We sat on the couch across from her and my "date" kneels between my legs and unzips me,and begins to blow me in earnest. Now she starts begging her room mate to join in. Fucking romantic.

Well, the year was 1996...Me, I was a mere 21 year old baby...he was my knight...He was my firs love...to whom I have compared every other man to since!

I was working retail then, and it was around closing time, and he was supposed to pick me up...he didn't! I got a call from the hospital instead...he had been admitted for complications with an OI (PCP and KS). Marc was only 25...God he was beautiful...anyway, I digress...so I get the call and I close the store and rush to the hospital.

When I got there, his mom let me into his room...where I saw the most beautiful man in the world connected to tubes, wires, and a bed pan...(I know you are thinking, how in the world is this romantic??) Well, after a couple of hours his mom left for the evening, I stayed all night.

Marc tuned his head to me, and looked straight into my eyes...that's all he could see, cause I was masked and gloved up...he stares deep into my eyes, touched my face, and said these words to me...the very last words he spoke: "Jeromy, you are the light that has kept me alive this long, you are the one true friend, lover and family I have searched for all of my life, and I love you." I told him that I loved him too, and I crawled gently next to him in that bed, and held him close. He placed his head on my shoulder and I pulled my mask down, and our lips touched. It felt like we were exchanging our life forces with each other...we held that kiss for what seemed like an eternity...the nurse came in, administered his meds via that cold IV...and wanted me to go home, and I fought back and stayed...Marc fell asleep in my arms that night, never to wake again...it was at the moment when he drew his last breath...I don't know if it was reflexes or what...but Marc grabbed my hand and squeezed it, I kissed it and he slipped away.

I lay there, and cried and held him for about a half hour before allowing the nurses to enter...alrams were going off, bells were hurting my ears...that moment, was the most romantic moment of my life. It was when he told me that he loved me for the last time, not through words, but through touch...

This still brings me to tears...and I miss him so much...we were together for 5 years, and those were best 5 years of my entire life...

The emotion I am feeling right now is not one of sorrow, but of warmth and love...cause he loved me...

How about this romance. I met this great looking girl at a rodeo in Dallas texas and I was in rush back to Houston. I called her the next day and we made a date for a Saturday night two weeks away.
Well,as things sometimes happen, I had a very long drunken business lunch on the Friday before my date. The perverts I was with at lunch wanted to fly to Boys town in Laredo in their private plane. As we were landing in this God forsaken hard scrabble part of Texas I remembered I had a date with this beautiful girl in less than 24 hrs as I was dong another line of coke. We had sex with female whores all night long(and one tranny) and wheels were up at 7am back to Houston. Did coke the whole way back, landed at airport and caught a flight two hours later for Dallas. Still in the same clothes which reeked of whores, whiskey, smoke, and Mexico I land in Dallas.
This girl was a knockout but I was just sexed and coked out. Couldn't get it up. Well she is a hairdresser and her boyfriend works with her and she asks me if I mind if he joins us. WTF can i say? Lets do some more coke! This guy shows up and he is perfect. She asks me if I want to go down on him. I guess she though cause I couldnt rouse ole sparky that I was more interested in guys than gals. Now this is romantic. They are making out and I am going down on this guys absolutely perfect prick with a mushroom head. I still dream of it, it was so wide and so strong. We spent all day Sunday in bed. I even woke him with a head set while she was still sleeping. Now that was really romantic

Jamaica, Mon. I was in Negril in 1970 for two weeks. Whoa. The stories have lasted for thirty years. I was 18. Weed was $10 a pound. We bought a new pound everyday. We rolled spliffs with newspapers. There was a revolution. There just weren't any women worth looking at and no romance. Only one toilet in town and maybe two lightbulbs.

My romantic moment actually happened at a bathhouse. A friend of mine had moved to Phoenix several years ago and he took me to a bathhouse there. When we arrived, I went to my room, got undressed and as soon as I had walked out.. a stocky guy walked by and smiled. I smiled back and he motioned for me to follow him. His room ended up at the end of the hall from mine...when I entered his room.. that was when I really saw him; he was a little bit shorter than me, had short brown hair; a 3 day stubble, a full set of lips and the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen. I loved his husky body. He said his name was Antonio, not Tony because that was too common - so he said. We then spent hours passionately kissing each other, rubbing our lips on our foreheads - down to our cheeks - necks- chest - softly sucking the nipples, playing with each other, slowly rubbing each other, licking his back, licking my back, slowly sucking each others fingers, talking, joking and staring into each others eyes - the whole time, we never "made love", we just enjoyed being with each other, holding hands, lovingly caressing each other - complete strangers yet comfortable enough to share our feelings. He offered to fly me to Connecticut (where he was from) but I told him to shut up..and not ruin the moment.
When I walked out of Antonio's' room, my friend was standing in front of my room  fully dressed- pissed off, waiting to leave. While I was getting dressed, I had my door open, Antonio walked by (leaving the club) walked into my room, caressed my face and kissed me. I pushed him away, told him "thank you", he turned around and walked away.
A memory I will never forget...

Question, please....not to hijack the thread but can straight people go to bathhouses? Serious question, I have never been to one but have often listened to my friend talk of the one in Cleavland.

Sure they can, if they aren't homophobs, don't mind the little grab ass or a few snide remarks. To be honest with you, if they're straight and go to the baths, then they have something else on their mind.  ;)

Summer into Fall, 1991.  I had met a handsome, yet shy man, a week before.  We decided to take a spontaneous trip to the beach, Wrightsville Beach, to be exact.  I don't even think we planned on staying the night.  It must have been early September because the days weren't terribly short just yet, and it was still sort of pleasant in the evenings.  I think I packed an old quilt and a bottle of Sandeman Tawny Port...used to be one of my favorite "sipping" wines.  It must have been around 7 o'clock when we arrived and parked ourselves on the sand.  I don't recall much of a conversation.  We just sort of sat in silence and looked at the waves.   The tide must have been going out because I remember the sea foam almost trembling to hold on to the shore.  And then in an instant, it would break free and fly into the air.  I remember thinking how fresh and new life seemed in that moment.  The sea foam so desperately clinging to the sand seemed as fragile as a newborn.  Still no words between us...really no words were necessary.  I felt comfortable in the silence.  As the light gently bowed down to the dusk, I saw what appeared to be a huge ball of orangish-red fire on the horizon.  I thought briefly that it was some sort of illuminated sail from a boat far away.  As it slowly ascended into the sky, it revealed itself to be the most awesome harvest moon I have ever seen.  In that moment, I felt so connected to something so much bigger than myself...bigger than anything I had ever felt.  I felt the tears swelling in my eyes and I decided to let it all go.  Never had I been so inclined to just let things take hold of me, without my mind fighting to hold on to some sense of control.  I felt so pure in my willingness to just cry in front of someone whom I hardly knew.  I was filled with such joy and pain at the same time, and I was almost gently laughing and smiling through the whole process of release.  I felt joy because I felt so fortunate to be able to allow myself to just be...for once in my life...without the fear of being scrutinized for being too emotionally charged.  I felt pain because I wanted for one second to place that joy into the heart of the man who was sitting next to me...so that he could believe that there was something out there greater than just this simple moment.  He looked at me and just slightly smiled and placed his hand on my chest...that's all...it was all that was needed...words would have seemed so extraneous and meaningless at that very moment.  It was hard to breathe under the weight of my heart...so full of life yet so full of melancholia.  I had to just let the moment pass just like the moon ascended further into the sky, changing from fiery molten lava to silvery solitude and silence.  I had experienced the most romantic moment in my life in an instant, without any words to chain it to something finite...it was, indeed, a moment to remember.

Mine was easily when I proposed to my wife. So much planning went into the surprise of that moment and the emotions I felt were once in a lifetime. I can still remember not being able to hardly speak and I was shaking badly. :)

Just this past Labor Day weekend, I was in Orlando visiting a particularly special someone  ;)  We went to one of the theme parks one day.  It was HOT and HUMID - you know, summertime in Florida.

We were having a fantastic day.  We couldn't wait to get on the different water rides - an attempt to cool off from those hot summer rays.  Around early to mid-afternoon, again in typical Florida fashion, the skies opened up and a torential downpour ravaged the park.

Within a few minutes, the thousands of people that had been swarming the park were gone.  Soaking wet from riding the water rides, they ran for shelter from the water falling out of the sky.

The ground was hot enough that the puddling water was bath water warm.  We took our flip flops off and continued to walk through the park, hand in hand.  We virtually had the entire park to ourselves.  We walked two full times around the park like that.  The rain felt wonderful.  It was warm.

In spite of a few other people here and there, it really did feel like we were the only two people for miles around.

I would not normally classify a day at Island of Adventure as a romantic venture, but nature had other plans that day.  It was pretty amazing.

Lance... you know I'm always going to call you that  :)... I'm so glad that things are going great with the special someone in Florida.  :-*  Jay
Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

George Eliot, Middlemarch, final paragraph

Marc tuned his head to me, and looked straight into my eyes...that's all he could see, cause I was masked and gloved up...he stares deep into my eyes, touched my face, and said these words to me...the very last words he spoke: "Jeromy, you are the light that has kept me alive this long, you are the one true friend, lover and family I have searched for all of my life, and I love you."

Jeromy, what a romantic, spiritual and incredibly touching post you made.
This is one of the most beautiful posts I have ever read on here.
He gave you the most precious gifts he could : letting you the chance to let you know  he loved you.
Thank you. I can still feel your pain, but also your great gratitude for having experienced this. It must give you a lot of power.

Quote
He placed his head on my shoulder and I pulled my mask down, and our lips touched. It felt like we were exchanging our life forces with each other...we held that kiss for what seemed like an eternity...

Talking about the kiss of life. No wonder you still feel him alive in you. He gave you his breath. Goosebumps all over here.

Quote
Marc fell asleep in my arms that night, never to wake again...it was at the moment when he drew his last breath...I don't know if it was reflexes or what...but Marc grabbed my hand and squeezed it, I kissed it and he slipped away.

No words, only a deep gratitude for what you shared with us.

Thank you sweet Jeromy.

Romantic and very emotional moment :

Dan and me lighting a candle in a 13th century cathedral in Brugge amidst thousands of other Little candles, listening to Silent Night, looking into each others eyes and knowing we both could very well have been a far away memory.
Grateful that we survived more than 20 years of HIV and still be able to feel each other lips and breath.
Seeing the will to live and power to go on, in spite of the huge scars we both have on our heart.
