Yee-Ha !! Timmy's Got A Gee-Tar !!
« on: December 31, 2006, 05:22:00 PM »
That's right, guys and gals....thunter34 has gotten a GUITAR !  It's a Kona Acoustic (perhaps a K1? I don't really know...it's that new to me!)  I inherited it from my niece.  It was bought for here a few years back, but she has never played it.  I just got it tuned, and am already ripping my fingers up learning how make the chords.

I am  T H U - R I L L E D  !!!

Summa you crazy cats might remember that I said awhile back how much I wanted to learn to play an intsrument...
well, now I will be!  RIGHTEOUS !!

Tim,

I am THRILLED for you.  I hope I have to chance to hear you play a few chords before too long.  Here's a great place to start.

Congrats on the guitar! I have one and my bf has several. If you haven't yet, I recommend buying a tuner. They are real handy and most are easy to use. You don't want to be making anyone's ears bleed with an out of tune guitar. It's also smart to learn the chords, scales and all that stuff before you start trying to learn a song, so you are on the right track. I have been playing for a while and a year or so ago I took a guitar class at the college. I didn't complete the class but it was fun and I learned some new stuff. Anyway, have fun with the new guitar.

Go, Tim, go!  Don't forget to learn an obligatory Beatle's tune or two and at least one Jefferson Airplane.

And watch those fingertips!  Remember to stop before they bleed!

I picture you more as a Singing Nun type than Maria von Trapp, but you still need the habit.  Dominique!

AC/DC's Back in black is my request ::)

I can scream the lyrics and you can bounce on one knee...  why does that not sound right?   Not my knee!!  You know like Angus Young use to do... atleast I think that was his name.

Thomas,

It is Angus Young, and I know what you mean.  This is an acoustic guitar, though.  Somehow something gets lost in translation from electric.  Once I get a good grasp on this one, the electric will be where I am heading next!

Cool, Tim.  I don't play any musical instruments (always wanted to play piano), but I'm told I play a pretty mean flesh flute.   ;)

Tim,

We need to start up the AIDSmeds Gospel band......sort of like the Gaithers on Sustiva.....

We can get matching outfits (tacky) and I may even get a new hairpiece for the occasion.....you know those gospel men love a wig.
