*Do not use vinegar to get rid of molluscum*
« on: December 19, 2006, 01:57:20 PM »
*Original message edited in its totality*

Hi again everybody, the last follow up on the experiment of using vinegar to get rid of molluscum. Bottom line: DON'T DO IT. I have succeeded in killing off a few warts, but at the expense of my skin. In one location at least, I suffered a very bad chemical burn, to the point that I had to go to the doctor and am taking antibiotics. The other areas have dark scabs over them. So again, don't do it.

Thanks for the tip.  I have had mollusum frozen off 2 times & then after a while it always comes back.  I will let you know if this works for me.

Wow, I have never heard of this 'treatment', if I had, I would surely have tried it....I would have needed a swimming pool filled with apple cider vinegar though...

hmmmm,

I've got a friend that insists, that anytime he gets warts, he apllies medicated "Selsun blue" to the warts, and sure enough they are gone, quite quickly. But, I have never tried that. GOOD LUCK !

My ex Ken swears that a clove of garlic cut in half and taped on a wart overnight gets good results on a wart too, tho I've never actually tried it. The acid in the vinegar makes more sense to me (and would be a little less smelly).  ;)

Update on this: the warts are still loosing the war, but DO NOT use this technique on your genital area. At least in my case, the vinegar caused a bad burn on the shaft of my penis, and it is irritated and painful. Will be seeing my doctor tomorrow.... J.

Ok this is going to sound sick but back in 1990 when I was 20 I had 2 genital warts. Needeless to say I had them burned off twice by a nurse and they grew back each time after a week or two. I was so frustrated by them not going away I tried dipping a Q-tip in Liquid Drano I then dabbed the affected area enough to just go over the affected area, and yes it did sting a bit no more than the acid the nurse used previously. However after doing this once maybe a second application within days later to make sure it was dead they never grew back again only thing is there is this small white tone to the skin not really clearly noticiable though.
