The best way to find out is to just get tested... there you go!

Now, now, what have we all told you and what can you read over and over on this forum?  It is that symptoms cannot make an HIV diagnosis or lead you to one way.  If you have put yourself at risk get tested.  Simple as that.  Besides, symptoms can be non-HIV related.  (By the way there are no specific symptoms that can point you to HIV, so worrying about a stuffed up nose and cough is pointless.)  I think many of the posters on this board forget that HIV is not the only illness out there.

hd,

Symptoms or even the lack of symptoms mean nothing when it comes to hiv infection. The ONLY way to accurately know your hiv status is through testing.

Is there a specific reason you are worried about hiv? Unless you have been having unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse or sharing drug injecting equipment, you are likely to be worrying over nothing.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

thanks very much and you are a very nice, senstive person, i hope god blesses yo, why i brought it up was i had 2 encounters with guys , first guy got me drunk and i tried to have anal with me and tried to insert his dick into my anal region about 4 to 5 times, i refused to this and i later left but the fact  was i was a lil tipsy and he had tried to enetr me a couple of times i was very upset that i let myself down because i am abstinent most of the time  and this person tried to take adavntage of me, I ALWAYS USE CONDOMS. then a second incident in which i met this guy and we had oral condom used, then he tried to penetrate me but i am more  a virgin anally and the condom broke in the process i gt very scared  and ran to the bathroom stopped all contact at that point.
i got sick about a month o half after that and since then i have always had this never ending cold and slight cough more a sore throat very weird. i had  apimple or 2 on my back , never had one and thats about it and a little on my buttocks.
but i went to see the doctor but as a result they told me i may just be having allergies, but this is way to long so as we began to test for other test which i was going to ask for an hiv, i felt that particulat doctor was not caring enough for me to do so because they had preetty much tested my liver and found out its a lil high in something.the point is they forgot about it and never called me back.
thus i am lookin for a new clinic and saving enought money to get tested , i am just so scared because all this run around from my previous doctor took almost a year now  and now i dont want to face this ordeal again. my previous doctor  was very negligient.
I am so disapointed that i let myself down and those situations got out of coutrol

If you check with your local board of health you will likely be able to get your HIV test done free.

Do it at 13 weeks after the most recent unprotected incident.

There's nothing in any way HIV specific about anything you have reported. Given all that you have said I would say the odds are very much in your favor that you will test negative.

Cheers,

hd,

I agree with Andy, nothing you report sounds like it has anything to do with hiv.

As long as you were not actually penetrated without a condom, you haven't had a risk. The rubbing of genitals together or on various parts of the body is called frottage and frottage is not a risk for hiv infection. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for penetration, you'll be ok.

Of course, as I mentioned in my first post to you, if you are sexually active it is always a good idea to have regular, routine sexual health check-ups. Nothing you report makes me think you have any reason for your hiv test to return anything other than a negative result.

And by the way... it doesn't sound as though you've let yourself down at all. You said NO when there wasn't a condom involved and you made sure there was a condom involved in the second situation. Make sure you read through the condom and lube links in my signature line, because a correctly used condom rarely breaks. Make sure your top has used plenty of water based lube before attempting penetration.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

thanks ann and everyone else, i will get tested as soon as possible, this situation has made me to be abstinent , i kicked someone out the other day just as simple figering me i couldnt even stand that, cause i dont know if his finger tips were bleeding or not. i am dam paranoid. the first scenario i described, he tried to penetrate me, he didnt go all the way cause my anal muscles were too tight but i could feel him trying to get in he wasnt just rubbing my anal area, he tried several time s to push it in, but he could not get to the point of actually performing anything. just upset. i need to see a counselor cause its driving me crazy and losing time on things i have to do. thanks to everyone for answering me
