HIV Prevention and Testing > Am I Infected?

African sex worker, NGU, test accuracy, HIV-2, late seroconversion

Thanks Ann

The thought of infecting someone else is what worries me most. I know that a 12 week negative test result is considered conclusive, but after a high risk incident (could I have even chosen a more likely positive partner?!), and reading reports of rare late seroconversion, I can't live with there even being a minute chance that I'm not negative.

I could go for another test this week which would be nearly 6 months past the possible exposure.

Ann:
mas,

You go do what you gotta do. You have already tested conclusively hiv negative and your result is not going to change.

Hi again.

I went and got another test (23.5 weeks past "exposure") and it was negative.

Thanks for your support!
