someone wanted to see a Lion ..but I can't remember who..
« on: December 03, 2006, 04:24:50 AM »
Hi there

This is supposed to be a crouching Lion (didn't quite get it right)

Someone asked me if I could paint a Lion but I can't remember who it was..sorry..anyway, never painted one before so  I thought I would try it, and this is the result.

Hugs

That's nice Jan.  I like it.  Generally, how long does it take you to paint?  And how much time do you spend on it (i.e., do you primarily paint non-stop till you finish or do you do small bits at a time over an extended period of time)?

:D :D..you got that right Rod..the trick is not to leave any lines or numbers showing through the paint..it's a dead give away if you do... ;)

Cliff..I like to have at least 3 going at the one time, I hate just sitting there watching TV it bores me to tears, unless there is a really good movie on...I normally draw and base coat them all in one night..and then pick one to finish, the lion just took me one night because there is not a lot of detail involved, some take about 3/4 nights, i.e..the last one I posted (the 30's movie star) took me two nights, landscapes can take up to 4 nights and the Zebras I posted a while back took me one night..this one I started around 7pm tonight I finished it about an hour ago... it's now 10.55pm.

Love and hugs to you both

Wow, you're a fast painter, too, not just a good one.  I imagined it would have taken me a month to finish a zebra and it would probably have ended up looking like abstract art!

Jan- I had to scroll after your post to see the painting, and the realism actually startled me a bit!

Wow you're good.

Jan,
The Lion looks great! Congratulations on another piainting well done. I don't like to watch too much TV either. I woke uo at midnight last night with the idea for another painting burning my brain until I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it...

IT WAS ME!!!  I wanted to see a lion!  Very nice. He looks like he's looking down at the next post and chastising you, Cliff and Jen for having too much fun! No drinky-drink while the cubs need to be fed!

Creighton...

are you happy now?  Jan has managed to scare the bejesus  out of just about everyone.

Now how about a goat driving a Mustang in the heavens?  Think you and Carl can manage that?

Jan...it's wonderful. I love it.
