I feel for you sanitex. :(

Here in America, HIPAA privacy laws often keep positive clients at a clinic from knowing or meeting other clients. This has actually had a negative effect of leaving many people feeling quite alone, especially in more rural states, or agencies with few clients. And, as your situation suggests, it's pretty hard to serosort for a potential date/partner when you don't know other HIV positive people.

As a consumer advocacy leader, I'm distressed at the trouble/efforts it takes to engage other consumers behind this firewall. I'm also distressed by how this kind of privacy actually stigmatizes clients - leaving them alone and/or thinking their condition needs to be hidden (as if it's something for which they should be ashamed).

Unfortunately, I think the vast majority of members here hail from the USA or Europe, so if I were you I wouldn't be surprised if you find few, or maybe none at all, respondents to your post. I hope you'll find some way to find others in your area who are also positive and be able to meet with them socially. ;) Hang in there though! Although the prevalence rate in Nigeria is just 3.1%, that is about 3,400,000 adults in Nigeria with HIV of which 80% are heterosexual. So that's about 1.7 million HIV+ women in your country. ;)
