I totally understand how you feel. I would give anything to give myself some sense of normality.

Lasthope,

As a newbie, your concerns and fears are very understandable. But they will cool down, promise. Very first months/years of hiv I think it's very common to lose some self-confidence and having constant negative thoughts about our desirability. Yet, healing will start once your establish the notion that it's you who controls hiv not the other way around. It does not define you or identify who you are, what your goals in life etc. whoever stays in your life will stay because of loving you for who you are. Loving someone for me means loving everything about them and tolerating or managing areas of contradiction. If your bf leaves you based on hiv, I don't think he is the right person for you in the first place. Do you wanna spend your life with someone who judges you over a disease? I know it sucks but I try to look at our dx from a more productive perspective. As much as it is very stressful, disclosure actually gives us the opportunity to eliminate wrong ppl from our lives in a pretty quick way and save precious time that would have otherwise spent on an unnecessary relationship.  This may sound overly optimistic to you now, but trust me your self-confidence will come back in time and  if he is the right person your by will be right by your side as well :)

Big hugs...
