Has anyone used Abilify?
« on: June 22, 2014, 11:38:50 AM »
Lately my depression has kicked into overtime, to the point if I don't leave the house I spend the whole day sleeping. My HIV Dr brought up Abilify and suggested I talk to my shrink. He also Rx testosterone gel but still waiting on approval from insurance company. They want me to use the patch, but when I was on the patch my adherence was hit and miss. Some days I would leave the patch on for a few days because finding a spot with little hair is a problem.

I've been on just about every antidepressant since 1995, currently on Prozac. My oldest brother died suddenly the day after my birthday, and I hit the 1 year anniversary of my Dx. I've apparently been + for awhile before Dx, because the last time I had sex was Feb 26,2009 ( Ash Wednesday ). My VL has dropped and remains 20< but my tcells won't budge in fact they dropped back down to 130, having never breeched 200 yet.

So after all that I guess I want to hear about anyone's experiences while taking Abilify. Like most drugs the commercial make think what ever it's trying to help can't be any where as bad as the side effects!

And if I have this in the wrong forum I hope one of the administrators catches it and moves it for me.

The one thing I can say about Abilify is that I had HORRIBLE restless leg syndrome. Other than that my mood was amazing! Then again, I was taking it for bipolar depression. So my dosage was insanely high.
