Philly Train Workers Strike....
« on: June 14, 2014, 08:20:16 AM »
Just when I have a trip to there planned the coming week.

I guess I will have to limit myself to destinations "mere blocks" from my
lodging.  ;)

As long as you aren't commuting in/out from the suburbs then this won't be a problem for you -- all subway, trolley and bus lines will be working. At any rate, if you are staying downtown/Center City it's easy to walk everywhere anyway -- it's about the same width as Manhattan river to river.

You'll have to take a taxi from the airport though, as that rail line is part of the "regional rail" commuter network.

But anyway this might very well be suspended for 240 days if the President steps in quickly.

ps: if you need a quick walking tour let me know

***BREAKING*** Obama signs order, averting lengthy SEPTA rail strike

Now you can travel from the airport for a mere $6.50 to any of three central downtown stations.
