Baclofen
« on: May 22, 2014, 12:56:06 PM »
Mini was diagnosed with dystonia last fall. Her episodes were speratic and short-lived, lasting only a few minutes. Since, they have gotten much worse, occurring several times a week and lasting 2+ hours.

She was prescribed Baclofen by her neurologist in hopes that it will either stop her episodes or at least shorten the length of them. Her PID was opposed her taking them until recently. Now he wants Mini on them and she doesn't want to take them. Has anyone ever taken this med before?  If so, what was your experience?  Side effects?

Thanks!
Mum

i know this is an old thread

thinking of you mini, hope you're doing well

i've been taking baclofen for a few weeks... haven't taken them in a couple days and the twitching came back almost overnight. whole left side of my body

searched the board for the med and see only a couple people here have taken it. i've been pleased with the results, the only reason i took a break is i'm just tired of swallowing so many pills. some days i only haart and let the rest slide.

i still think you are probably the strongest person here

ah matty, small minded words from a grown man

could you have faced what we do... as a child?

i've read your experiences, i'm taking nothing away from what you've been through. did you ever have the pump implanted? how'd that whole thing work out for you? my neurologist has thrown out the same terms at me.

and watch your language in any mini thread, she's just a young'n, we can curse each other like pirates in private buddy

This is mini's mom's thread and I don't think she would like the language either. It should not be that hard to to get back on track in this thread ... just do it .

my question about the baclofen pump was legitimate

the diversion was harmless, matty and i have similar "abrasive" personalities... i doubt he knew who mini and mum are... no big deal... no harm no foul
