Am I infected
« on: May 11, 2014, 04:00:59 PM »
Firstly I would just like to say what a wonderful forum this is.

My situation is I've just come back from vacation in Thailand where forgive me for this I slept with a lot of people woman and ladyboys most of the sex was protected but one night I took a ladyboy back and I had her come in my mouth which I spat out immediately but what's worrying me is I had a slight cut on the inside of my cheek which I bit into as I'd had a lot to drink that night this was 17 days ago to the day.

Secondly I took I real woman back another night we had vaginal intercourse and I was protected but after we had anal intercourse when I was protected god knows why not why I'd had a bit to drink also that night but we all do stupid things when were drunk
right? I must add though this girl was very loose and there was little friction and it lasted about 1 minute and I didn't come and she wasn't a prostitute as such I pulled her in the nightclub not that it makes a difference as to wether she's infected or not.
But what does worry me about this girl is she had a very bad and I mean bad cough all night and into the next day. This was about 14 days ago

I haven't felt any HIV symptoms bar one I've woken up the last 4 night very sweaty in bed not woken up and having horrible sweats just waking up to a very sweaty body if that makes sense but I'm not sure if that's just being generally too hot in my duvet??

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Thank you very much

If I'm reading you correctly you had protected vaginal and anal sex, you did the right thing and that was not a risk . The oral sex is not if concern or a risk .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I see, thanks for clearing that up for me .

You did have a risk and can test at 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

So it's now been over 7 weeks since my stupid unprotected sexual encounters and I've had zero symptoms of HIV acute primary infection is there still a chance I could be infected with HIV?

Please only post in this one thread no matter how long between visits or the subject matter . You can find this thread by visiting your profile and selecting show own post and it will take you here .

The only way to know if you have HIV is to test at 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .  Symptoms or lack of them tell you nothing about your status ... so go test .

A 6 week test is highly unlikely to change when confirmed at 3 months .
