Newbie needs advice
« on: March 29, 2014, 03:29:15 PM »
Hey everyone! Abso here! I was just curious, I'm a newbie and 25 days on complera, I've noticed that my hair seems to be thinning a lot more then before, I also noticed today that my throat hurts, I have a fever of 99.1 last night, and I'm extremely exhausted. I was considering going to ER but I don't know for what. I really am just concerned about lymphnodes because of the pain in my neck, next to my throat, I'm not yellow or anything but just feel off. What's your thoughts? Go to ER or just write my doctor on Monday?

Thanks!

AH Newbie Jitters is the worst, we all have had them . I can sympathize with feeling like the sky is falling every time you are sick but its important to remember its not all HIV related and we still get cold and non pozzie stuff . I would wait and see my doctor unless your fever spikes high . I'm not certain what your labs are but at this point it sounds more like chicken soup time rather then emergency room time .

Relax guy, your cd4 count is not bad and feeling a bit unwell is no reason to jump to the conclusion of utter doom . You are going to get sick sometime and its not going to kill you .

Nope, you'll live. Chicken soup, as Jeff says.

Just do what you would have done pre-diagnosis when you were coming down with an ordinary bug. And chill. Well, keep yourself warm and well hydrated, but chill at the same time. ;)

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
