Yet another "breaktrough" claim- this time from Australia. They want to cure HIV/HCV in 5 years :) I dont know how serious this one is.

As the articles state, this is pre-clinical and they are looking for commercial partners.  This kind of overly enthusiastic claim is how these research projects attract attention and funding.  The marketing aspect isn't that much different than the Immunity Project in my mind (although the underlying science and scientific team are different). 

The primary question I have is whether the regulatory process in Australia would allow the trials to proceed any faster than in the US?

All in all I hope it works out for them, as far as research projects go...the more the merrier.
