Great! happy for you and for us all who fortunately live in a new-drugs-era:)

I had the same nice feeling last week...after 2 months on truvada-isentress-norvir-prezista I went from >500000 VL to 71 and from 590 (22%) cd4 to 1034 (39%).

It feels great:))

My only fear I've got low vitamine D... My doc told me to start taking vitamine D once per week...does anyone experienced this? :P

My roommate went to the doctor few days ago because he started losing feeling in his legs and arms and come to find out he had almost no vitamin D, so they prescribed him something like 50,000mg prescription D he has to take once a week.

Vit D deficiency is pretty common with HIV.  I take 5,000 IUs over the counter per day now.  Back in about 2009 I had to take 30,000 IU 3 times a week for several months to get things back where they should be.

Good news Mikey.  Your cd4's are about twice mine.  I'm hovering at about 560 and didn't we both start treatment like the same week?

Are you still taking Isentress/Prezista?  There was just a study at croi this year showing dual therapy with isentress/prezista to be just as good as triple therapy. You were ahead of the game on that one.

Hivtalian..has your doctor tested your vitamin d levels?  Mine does about once a year and they have always been normal.

HI guys, and thanks for your attention:)

Buginme, yes my viT D was tested last week and it's starting to be a little bit lower than normal (actually I don't exactly know the value) and that's why my doc told me to take once a week 30 drops of vit D 10000 units...

She told me it's pretty common when on haart, I hope it's not gonna be a big deal, I workout regularly and I eat healthy food, and I think this is also important for good numbers...

Thank you guys, this forum has really been important for me since I was diagnosed, and I hope it will be, for me and everyone on here <3

I was on prescrip Vit D for about 6 mos...I think, if memory serves ,that It was 500kIU once a month. But I'm back to normal now, who knows for how long though :P

Hey, I just tested positive a month ago and started with my first dose of Stribild this morning. From the initial blood tests my doctor did a couple of weeks ago, I already have a Vitamin D deficiency - my level was 17.2 and normal is 30.1-100.  Doctor just has me taking a daily 2000 IU supplement for now.

Hey Eric48, is 100,000 monthly an injection, a prescription, or something you can get over the counter?  Planning to talk to doctor about it.

I hear Atripla can screw up your vitamin D level and bone density.. I read that on Dr.Joel's forum and he suggest 2000 units of D and 1000 mg of calcium per day.. buying some tomorrow.
Atripla, Bactrim, Azithromycin
Date         CD4's          VL

I buy the vial with my script, but, a prescription is not required (ask pharmacis)
In severe cases or other clinical situation, Doc may order the injection
On prevention/maintenance like me, i just drink
Cost $5 or so
