Has anyone had any experience with Genric Truvada?
« on: February 18, 2014, 10:18:56 AM »
Hello all, I recently had to go off all my HIV meds because I cannot afford the medications without patient assistance and ADAP, so I found, this article, on http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.poz.com%2Farticles%2Fgeneric_truvada_761_24320.shtml&ei=-XcDU9WHDcv90wH05YG4Dg&usg=AFQjCNE_D8i19orKYWXcrW5aZfDnCJUMtA&bvm=bv.61535280,d.dmQ

From what I can tell I can get a 90 day supply for $233.00

I know its taking a chance, you never know for sure, but its from a Canadian, source and it does require a prescription, so its a legit pharmacy, which a phone number I can call.

Right now I have few choices because of how my insurance started billing Truvada, my cost is now over $556.00 per month and thats with BCBS prescription insurance, meaning I would be paying out $500 per month in insurance costs, plus $556.00 for one of my two HIV meds,

being honest here I cant live on what that does to my income.

So her is hoping that someone perhaps has tried this medication and might have some feedback.

I'm also open to any suggestions, Gilead terminated their patient assistance program for truvada, they have a card, but so far no help seems likely to get me back on my meds.

I have been off meds before, for a few weeks and did see a climb in VL but in 30 days of starting back on meds all went back to normal, I have this nagging feeling that going off and on meds is like playing Russian Roulette.

Cannot obtain any patient assistance, the AFA is a serious threat to patients with HIV.

Unable to afford to purchase medications.
tired of fighting to stay alive.

Terrified but helpless to do anything about it.

Since when?  www.gileadcopay.com  would save you money on your co pay if you have traditional insurance.   Also, what's your current insurance situation?   You mention you had ADAP  but now have BCBS?   What happened to the adap?
