21 week but anxious and scared
« on: February 17, 2014, 04:23:24 AM »

Here is my story:

Exposure: Unprotected insertive oral with a Macau CSW.

1 week: took antibiotics due to fear of STD's.

2 weeks: anxiety over possible exposure leads to nausea, shivering

6th week: wife and kids sick week before with high fever and cough. Had light muscle and joint pain, felt that I was about to get fever, popped a pill for fever. Also had sore throat with occasional cough and stuffy nose. No rash or head ache. Took antibiotics for sore throat but no help. No fever, only feverish. Occasional nausea but probably due to anxiety. Swollen gum on the right side with dentist saying that it is due to top tooth aggravatig lower gum when I bite. Lymph node under the jaw swells.

7th week: no fever, no rash, sore throat was healing but still had slight discomfort. Swollen gum at the back of teeth still there with swollen lymph node. End of 7th week went to get tested. Test was a 4th generation Combo (architect) - negative

8th week: 5 red bumps that were "rash"like on the lower back. Got concerned. Not really sure if its classified as a rash if there are only 5 bumps. Lasted for 6 days because I put hydrocortisone on it on the 3rd day. Gums were still a bit swollen with lymph node swelling under jaw. Sore throat was ok, no pain but with very mild discomfort. Stool is still semi-loose.

9th week: discovered cervical lymph nodes all under 1cm but numerous (even clavicular)

10th week: Abbott Architect Ag/Ab : negative

12th week: got an itchy cough with red bumps at the posterior pharyngeal wall. Got tested Architect Ag/Ab :negative

17th week: got concerned because red bumps in throat are still there along with cervical lymph nodes, tested negative again Abbott Architect Ag/Ab

21st week: got concerned because wife got admitted to the hospital due to vomiting and abdominal pain with swollen lymph nodes under ear. She got ct scan, colonoscopy, and endoscopy with only esophagitis as finding. Gastro wasnt convinced that that was the cause. I got scared and tested again, negative on the abbott architect ag/ab.

24th week: matted lymph nodes have appeared under both my armpits that feels like the surface of a corn cob. Have been to doctors and they have felt it and did not worry about it. Also, my wife has a progressive cough now, and her nose bled two times in a week.

do I still need HIV testing? Am I HIV FREE considering the 5 tests I took. Im really very scared and anxious and have lost a lot of weight. I also am scared that I might have infected my wife.

Luis,

Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection, so you never needed all that testing in the first place. Not one person has ever been infected through getting blown and you were never going to be the first.

There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

You do NOT have hiv and you cannot give your wife a virus you do not have. And you do NOT have hiv.

If you and/or your wife feel unwell, work with a doctor to find out what is actually going on. Whatever that may be, it is NOT hiv. You are conclusively hiv negative and you did NOT have a risk in the first place.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED FURTHER HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks Ann.

What about late seroconversion? Will the 4th generation test pick up p24 at very late stages? I seem to be getting phantom pains in areas where there are lymph nodes. I am actually scared to check.

You never had an exposure so there isn't going to be any seroconversion.

Luis,

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six WEEKS, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change. A test at or after twelve weeks is conclusive.

YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION, so as Rodney points out you aren't going to seroconvert, late or otherwise.

Hi Ann,

Now Im starting to feel scared and nervous again as my wife has body aches and a cough. Her cough has been there ever since the start of january. As for myself i can feel little lymph nodes on my neck, armpit, and elbow. They are less than .5cm but I fear that their presence signifies something is wrong plus the red bumps at the cak of my mouth. I know insertive oral does not pose a threat when it is only aaliva but what if there was blood as the CSW brushed her teeth right before the deed.  I am also losing weight but I do not know if it is from anxiety or somethig else. Doctors does not warrant a test again as they said the 5 month and 1 week 4th gen test is sufficient to be definitive. Help me please.

Hi guys,

Sorry to be back. It has been a nightmare ever since February. After I lost a lot of weight (8 pounds) i gained back 16 pounds but only on my stomach(unusually big) and chest. What is really frightening is that my arms, forearms, legs, feet, and neck have become very thin! My face start is starting to thin out too. I keep on readig about Lipodystrophy and this seema to be it. Is there any chance the 4th generation tests out to 21 weeks missed my infection? Everyday I see NEW signs of thinning, indentations, etc. i even had to change my watch size because my wrists have become so thin. My neck also has become so thin that indentations are evrywhere. I know because I am so attuned to my body. Any help guys? Is this Lipodystrophy? Or can this be stress?

luis,

YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION. Not one person has EVER been infected through getting their dick sucked and you aren't going to be the first.

Even if you DID have a risk -which you did NOT - you are conclusively hiv negative. Yes, you really are hiv negative whether you like it or not.

Lipo is associated with some of the older meds taken to control hiv infection. It has NOTHING to do with hiv itself. Hiv wasting is another matter entirely and it doesn't happen early on in the course of infection - it happens when someone has been infected and untreated for years. This clearly has nothing to do with you.

If you're worried about your health or changes in your body, go see a doctor. Whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with a virus you DO NOT HAVE. Quit chasing hiv and GO SEE A DOCTOR.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

You got a NO HIV RISK blowjob. Get over it already.

Hi Ann,

I really am thankful for your words. I am just frightened that this might be Lipodystrophy. Ive been to the doctors and they have no known diagnosis. Have been to the Endo, Pulmo, ENT, lots of ID, HIV specialist, and others. All of them say its not HIV AND i seem to be ok for awhile but then I notice that my extremities are thinning and my stomach is big and I go into anxiety mode. Im sorry to be reptitive but I do am grateful for your reassurances.

You do not have HIV and you most certainly do not have lipo . It takes many years for HIV or meds to do that kind of damge so you need to give up the idea that this is happening to you because it just not possible . Go see your doctor and tell them that you are having irrational anxiety over this a see what they can do for you . We can't address you HIV phobia other than to provide the facts and we have already done that .
