Hi everone,  I am on my first month of hiv treatment on truvada and tivicay and i am doing so well, went down from 192000 vl to 42 and cd4 up from 156 to 264, the only problem is that i only have two more doses and my insurance does not want to fill my prescription until monday feb 17 which means i will miss my meds one day... I am freaking out cause my dr warned me that resistance is highly possible sooner with this combo if not following regime appropriately.... As i am on my first month i don't think i cant afford to miss any days, specially when i am doing so well, and i don't want to change meds... so i need someone's help to give me 1 or 2 doses until my prescription is filled on monday....hopefully someone can help or advice on where to get them... I am willing to pay for them...

Also any advice on how to oblige insurance companies to filled prescriptions sooner than at the very last minute to ensure one does not run out of meds... I have a PPO

Hi Turtle . Where its not a good idea to miss doses of your meds in the early stages of treatment I am certain you will be ok missing one day . You will not get resistance issues from missing a dose or day of your ART drugs so you can relax .

Thanks Jeff, I am so new to all this that I was worried, I am still working things out with the pharmacy and PPO so I can have them over the weekend, finger crossed...otherwise, I will go early on Monday to get them and it'll only be around 10 hours without them, which I thinks I'll be OK as you rightfully stated... cheers

Your welcome . Resistance issues mostly happen when people consistently miss doses so you do not have to worry that you will burst into flames or self destruct if you miss a dose now and then .
