OK Mitchypoo, my bad.  I had never heard of pork skins but they do exist.  I still have a difficult time believing they aren't that unhealthy?  Aren't they deep fried?

Jeff, my Great Aunt Dottie and Uncle Jenny (they've been room mates for close to 60 years and still insist they're room mates.  :) ) have lived in the Wolfe homestead on top of Smokey Row Hill.  It is a hewn cut log cabin that was built before Ohio was even a state.

A couple of years ago when I made the trek to visit them, I was mortified by what I had discovered.  Obviously, the chinking had deteriorated over time and a contractor convinced them to put god awful vinyl siding on it.  To me, it's beyond hideous and I hope you ever ends up with the property restores it back to its glory.

hey wolfie, i've done a few of log rebuilds. that vinyl looks like hell, but on the bright side it protect the logs really well. i was on a whole house demo once. owners didn't even know a portion of their home was log, all hidden by siding and wall panels. we stopped the tear down and made it a salvage job, numbered them, took them down, warehoused them until they decided what to do. couple years later those logs now stand ready for another hundred years. the whole thing was just too damn awesome. that family basically got a free vacation cabin

i'm sitting here trying to think if a yankee has ever been in my home. i can only think of one person from wisconsin, in 40 years. damn she talked funny.

I am very tolerant of Yankees and have one as a friend . Its important to remember that Yankees are people too and even have feelings . When I get to heaven I'm sure I will go over on their side every now and again for a visit .

Zach, my brother and I built a log cabin fort when we quite young (around 10 or 11).  We dragged all the dead trees to a clearing in the woods and went to work on them.  We had that thing for many years and even built onto through the years.  We managed to drag an old mattress out there so we could sleep out.  I cringe at that now....lol

It has probably been 25 years since I been out there and should make a trek some day to see if it remains.

We also dug our own pond but that was an epic failure.  We were smart enough to put it in the middle of a marshy area as it held water just fine.  We spent many hours in the crick capturing fish to stock our pond.  They all died!!!!
