really scared
« on: December 23, 2013, 05:48:02 PM »
Hi all,

I am extremely scared and not able to sleep at night. Please help.
I had protected oral and vaginal sex in a massage parlor with an Asian masseur in San Francisco few weeks back 6th Nov. The oral sex lasted for 2 minutes followed by the vaginal sex which lasted about 2 minutes. There was no breakage in the condom while usage. After the vaginal act the masseur used some tissue papers to remove the condom. I am scared that while removal of the condom the vaginal fluid on the outside of the condom might have touched my penis. Also i am not sure if there are minor holes in the condom developed after the oral sex through which the contaminated vaginal secretions might have gone through my penis. I am uncircumcised.
It has been 6+ weeks and so far and i did not have any fever or rash. I had congested nose and some cough on and off. I also have muscle fasiculations/ twitching in my legs. From 46th day i felt my right occipital lymph node swollen(below and behind my ear aand closer to back of my neck) with a mild pain, especially if i turn my neck. Left one is fine.

I have done the following tests by Labcorp:
1. HIV RNA Test at 7th, 12th, 19th, 26th and 40th Day - All NEGATIVE
2. HIV Antibody Test at 34th and 43rd Day - All NEGATIVE
3. Hepatitis C test on 43rd Day -  NEGATIVE (I did this because i read somewhere that people with Hep C can develop antibody slower )

Are the results conclusive or do i have to do a 8 and 12 week test as well. Please advise.

You never had an exposure and never needed testing.

Please only post in this thread no matter the subject matter or how long between visits . You can find your thread by going to your profile and selecting show own post .

You did not have a risk for HIV . HIV is sexually acquired from unprotected vaginal and anal sex so you did not even come close to having a remote risk of contracting HIV .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STDs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!
