My bad Ann. I forgot to say that I got my meds on Saturday. :-[ One bottle of Truvada and one bottle of Isentress. Today I received 3 more bottles of Truvada!!! WUT? A bill came with the shipment so I had to spend yet another hour trying to straighten it out with Acreedo. Seems like they have no record of shipping me the single bottle of Truvada. Guess they were having a sale. Buy 3 get one free. ::)

I'm once again on hold with Anthem to make sure that things are squared away. I called the customer service number on the back of the card for my new ACA plan. It took 1 hour 15 minutes only to talk to a representative that said she couldn't help me with anything regarding ACA plans. WTF? She then transferred me and I get the same exact prompts as the first call. UGH!!! Still waiting. If this call leads me nowhere once again I will give up for today.

Unfuckingbelievable.

Due to the kindness of another member my mind has been put on ease for months to come. Extra meds because of a regime change are being sent my way.
I can not thank this person enough!!  :)

regime

regimen, not "regime"  :P ;)

I would have sent you pills ages ago if we were on the same REGIMEN though I can't remember what you are on.

ps: I was just on hold with a medical bureaucracy for 45 minutes. PRAISE!

Update.

So here is the riddle:
Q. When is a mail order pharmacy not considered a mail order pharmacy?
A. When it's called a specialty pharmacy.

I received that answer from the State Insurance Commissioner's office in regards to my complaint about the CT statute that states insurance companies can not force their customers to buy meds from a mail order pharmacy.

Really?

She said that this had been looked into before and their attorneys said the loophole is legal.

Really?

Makes the law rather useless.

Anyway, my new ACA policy only covers my meds through "in network" pharmacies and apparently the only "in network" pharmacy for my hiv meds is Acreedo. If I were to go out of network the total cost would be mine.

I'm sure most insurance companies are using this strategy.

Oh well, hopefully in a few more months I will be approved for SSDI and can kiss Acreedo goodbye for good.

Just another vent.

For those of you who are happy with your mail order, excuse me, "Specialty" Pharmacy, I am happy for you but I hope you don't ever have to deal with Acreedo.

I got a letter in the mail today saying that my account for home delivery has been put on hold due to a past due invoice of over 30 days. This was my deductible that I repeatedly told them to bill ADAP for but they didn't until now. I think I got them to finally understand but the conversation left me speechless.

I expressed my frustration in a kind and rational manner of how much time and effort it takes me in every aspect with them and said that I wished I had other alternatives. The woman's reply was "Well, you know there is no law saying you have to get your meds from us." to which I replied " Going out of network would force me to pay $30,000. anywhere else.".

Her reply back... " I was just trying to explain your options."

Thought I would give it ONE shot before passing this problem over to my ASO. What a mistake! lol.

Anyway, she claimed that her comment was made out of professionalism. I'm thinking she and the entire company have no idea what that term even means.

End rant.

What a nightmare!  It's hard to stay sane sometimes in the face of total and complete ignorance and aggravating remarks.  Please let your case manager deal with this from now on.  I know it's hard when one's used to doing things him/herself, but that's what you signed up for.  You don't need all that stress, M.

This is just awful.  Accredo continually tries to fill my script early.  I'm sitting on a 2-3 month surplus of complera at this point because they keep calling me trying to send me more.  They haven't had an issue processing the copay assistance but I haven't used ADAP for meds since I've been using Curascript/Accredo.

I hate to keep digging up this thread but just wanted you all to know that life with Acreedo has NOT improved. Since last November I've had one, maybe two months without a glitch.

This month's saga:

Called in prescription. Asked when the soonest date that Anthem would cover it. Was told the 25th. It was scheduled to ship on the 25th, arriving on the 26th. No meds.

Got a call from them on the 26th saying it was too early to refill. The "correct" date that Anthem will cover it is the 27th. (Sunday) So... new scheduled ship date was Monday the 28th to arrive today. No meds.

Got a call this afternoon saying the delay was their error. Wow! First time ever that they admitted screwing up. It's supposed to ship out today and arrive tomorrow.

Meanwhile she says my "exhaust date" will be August 27th, so I should not call before then. WTF! She wants me to call in my refill at the last minute? lol.

I do have plenty of backup supply due to their error for one med and a members kindness on my other med so I'm not frantic, just royally pissed at the continuous insanity.

Heads up folks! Avoid Acreedo if you have ANY other options.
