Shalom all,

I have been reading these forums for the last(almost five months)...since my possible exposure. Anyway I wish to get my daft question outta the way. Okay, I was tested at 5 1/2 weeks and I was a big "negatoid"<---got that term from Shawn Deckers book which is brilliant btw! Big ups Shawn. Back to my story..then I was tested again by Orasure/Oraquik finger prick 20 minute test. Another negative result. Now the super kind bloke who just happened to be gay and also had a scare like mine was sympathetic as well as super kewl and kind told me this was a defenitive/conclusive result. Not sure why I mentioned the gay bit. Maybe because I'm not. Anywho...Dr. Bob that ultra kewl guy from the body.com also said I was way in the clear. My question is in ur lots opinion is my 16 week and two day Orasure 20 minute FDA approved negative result defenitive???
Next, I am sooo thankful for the people who post on here. I have learned soooo much. I came to accept whateva result that might have been in the cards for me. I especially like the remarks Matthew(the matthew with his own pic next to his posts), and Andy who  makes  the new blokes feel comfy whilst posting. I admit I have been very ignorant of HIV education all these years. I also think it took a real scare to sort me out (even though my exposure was low risk)--->me giving said skank oral. I reckon it took me 33 years to finally get educated. I just want to say between this site and thebody.com I have been touched to the core by this awful affliction. I am currently a third year Law Student at Northwestern University and am now considering going into medicine. I wish to make a difference. I have told my story of a real scare to the young adults at my synagogue in the hope other males and females don't party too hard one night and end up infected. I hope it is okay for me to stop in and say hello every now and then. G-d bless!
Oh vote Barak Obama for prez.
Cheers & Shalom,
Jacob

Jacob,

I'm not sure if you're asking, but you are conclusively hiv negative and it's time for you to get on with your life.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

thanx for the reply, however I wasn't aware that I wasn't gettin on with it. Everyone should find something worth fighting for perhaps this is a cause I can get behind. I know there are many, many people who come on here scared and worried and I'm sure my bloody scare is nothing compared to the people who truely are poz. I just wanted to say thanx thats all. Be well.

Ann:
Jacob,

OK then, guess you just wanted to say thank you. Your post was rather difficult to decipher.

You're welcome.

;D Hallo all! Just a quick couple questions. I posted a couple weeks ago with my long story. Doing better now actually. This is my question: The Aussies are or have implemented a new window period as far as timing goes. I've read the docs down under believe the window period is 6 weeks not three months. So what I don't get is why 3 months or even 6 months as the CDC says. A certain Dr. Bob on another website say the 6 month CDC timeline is bollocks. And the 3 month is really stretching it a bit. So I tested negative by ELISA at 5 1/2 weeks and then at 16 1/2 weeks by Orasure/Oraquick finger prick test. I think our doctors in England are rather keen on changing the window period to 6 weeks as well. What do you guys think or better yet why is there even a 6 month testing date. I was told by two people as well as countless docs that my 16 1/2 week negatoid test was conclusive/definitive. I just don't fancy all these bloody dates. If anyone might be able to explain I'd appreciate it. Cheers/G-d bless!
Jacob
