Condom broke with a 'working girl'
« on: November 27, 2013, 06:08:41 AM »
Hi guys, thank you for this community!

4 weeks ago i spent some time with a female Slovakian escort, she provided oral with a condom and also sex with a condom of course and she did not permit any kind of kissing/oral etc which to me seemed like a good indication of a careful intelligent person being precautious..

But with all the common anxiety and late night googling of symptoms and risk factors i started to convince myself that maybe she was not using protection for her benefit but mine so that i did not contract what she had maybe? Paranoid? i know..

Anyway on to the risk encounter, we switched positions and when doing so i looked at the condom and from my brief evaluation it appeared intact, after a few bouts of insertion which lead to the climax, just before i came i thought it felt different (warm and wet) i figured it may have been pre-cum so was not initially alarmed i came, removed myself and sure enough the condom was broke. Time of exposure was roughly between 30-60 seconds give or take..

After i discovered this very quickly after that i rinsed myself with warm water and washed with shower stuff and made sure i urinated. Basically i am looking for reassurance that my encounter like many i have read here is your typical low risk insertive condom break as seen in other threads on this forum.

Additionally i asked her if she was infected with anything and in broken English she seemed to think i was more concerned about her being pregnant, then replied no after i re-established my prior concern.

You did have a risk and will need to test at 6 weeks and again at 3 months for a conclusive result .

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you for the reply Jeff, but i am aware i need testing and i am at risk my question was asking to some what quantify that risk so that i can evaluate my chances and hopefully be able to continue with my medical studies with as little anxiety and worrying as possible.

If anyone can read my post and give me a rough idea based on this particular situation of the vague risk i am in for this as close as possible, as i know there is no sure fire percentage to look too. That would be greatly appreciated :)!

Condom breaks with brief insertion rarely leads to infections but it was a risk all the same . Hopefully she is OK too , poor woman must be stressing out herself .
