My BF and I
« on: January 27, 2014, 10:49:51 AM »
So, my boyfriend and I have been together a few months. We are very open and honest with each other about everything(he was upfront about his positive status even before we became a couple). I am negative, and since finding out his status I have been doing research to educate myself about HIV and the risks, etc. BTW, this forum has been a godsend for information from real people with experience. As a result of this research, I feel confident in our relationship and better equipped to overcome any obstacles that may come our way.
We are at the point in our relationship where we are ready to become sexual. However, he has expressed some anxieties about possibly infecting me with the virus. I have told him that this is a valid concern, and I also shared with him that I have been looking resources like this forum, educating myself about living with HIV and the risks, etc. That seemed to relieve his anxiety a bit, but I am worried that this is something that may continue to come up again in the future. So, my question is, what can I do if anything to help relieve his anxieties? Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Biz ! . Invite your BF to become a member here on the forum and he can get information and support from others who are in a serodiscordant relationship .

I'm single now but most all of my past partners were and are still HIV negative and we enjoyed a healthy sex life .

Thank you! I have told him about this great resource, and I am hoping he will join. This seems like an excellent community. He does attend HIV support groups, but I am not sure if they address or talk about serodiscordant relationships. I know we can have a great sex life, I just hope he can overcome his fears and anxieties.
