Thinking a lot lately. Need assurance.
« on: September 28, 2013, 04:25:23 PM »
Hello all. Here's my story. January 12, 2013 I had protected vaginal sex with an unknown woman(status unknown). When she stood up to get off me (missionary position), I noticed that the condom had came lose inside her(half was hanging outside) - due to my penis no longer being hard. My penis was inside her when I came and we stayed in that position for about 45 secs. A week later had unprotected vaginal sex with a trusted friend(HIV tested negative). Couple of days later, I started getting a burning feeling and red spots in my penis. Called my friend and she said her vagina was swollen and she had gotten yeast infection. This was her first yeast infection. Applied some over the counter Monostat and the feeling went away. I started freaking our and couldn't help but google the symptoms and realized that it could be related to HIV. Started feeling the lymph glands too much to see if they were swollen and I guess that made it swell. After that experience I've been freaking out. Took the OraQuick oral swab test at 4, 7, 10, and 20 weeks and all came back negative. I don't have night sweats, neither have lost weight. Everyday I wake up with the feeling that I might have HIV and infected my friend. This is tearing me up. Here are my questions:
1) Are my tests conclusive and should I move on ?
2) Can I get HIV since the condom was inside her when she got off ?
3) The Monostat helped but could the symptoms be related to HIV ?

You can count on your test as conclusive proof that you do not have HIV and can move on without fear you were infected during the condom slip encounter .

HIV infections for condom breaks or brief unprotected insertions are rare but still a risk . You do not need to worry about HIV in your situation  , a negative test at 3 months is conclusive so your 20 week test was more than adequate to confirm your negative status .

I am not sure if the last oraquick test (20 weeks) was valid since I did the test in a moving car. I swiped my gums, dipped the swab in the vile and started driving but the line next to the C (control line) did appear. According to the oraquick website, if the line appears next to the C the test was valid. Should I put this behind me and move on ?
