Bizarre Situation -- Worried
« on: September 18, 2013, 12:39:52 PM »
Okay, this is totally embarrassing, but I'm worried sick about it. Over the weekend some buddies and I were at a hotel during a road trip and ordered a stripper to come by. I'd been drinking quite a bit that night, and during the show the stripper did the "lollipop pick-up" trick where she made me hold a lollipop in my teeth and she picked it up with her vagina. After dancing around with it a bit, she then came over and shoved the lollipop in my mouth! In my drunken haze I didn't react correctly and actually crunched on the lollipop and even swallowed some of it before realizing what I was doing! Anyway, I'm really worried I might have contracted HIV or an STD. . .should the probability of this happening be as concerning to me as it seems?

For what it's worth, I called the service and told them my dilemma, and to my surprise they were not surly about it (as I expected) but seemed sincerely sympathetic.  They said they would call the girl and ask if there was anything I needed to be worried about, and sure enough a few minutes later they called me back and assured me she was clean and that she does that trick all the time.  Small consolation, I know (consider the source), but that's about the only think I have working for me right now between panic attacks. Thanks for your help.

Relax , death by lollipop will not be a part of your obituary when your time comes .

These are the risk factors for HIV ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

You didn't have a risk ... ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this Lollipop incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks!  That is certainly comforting to know.  Note that I never have intercourse outside of my regular GF. . .this was just a stupid, impulsive strip-show (another thing I don't normally engage in) my friends and I decided to get after a night of drinking.  But it was just supposed to be a SHOW, not a juice-tasting!

Anyway, one follow-up "what if" question, if I may: would it make any difference if she was in the early/late stages of menstruation and a little blood got on the lollipop?  She did shower beforehand, and I didn't have any open sores/cuts in my mouth at the time that I know of, aside from maybe my gums having bled after flossing a night or two prior.  Still no worries?

It would not have mattered under no circumstances would it be considered even the slightest of risk .

The area where HIV resides is in the mucosa around the cervix and I guarantee that sucker never came near a cervix and even it it did it would not be a risk for lots more reasons . Trust me , we have this dilemma licked .
