Echinacea for common cold
« on: December 25, 2014, 03:55:58 PM »
Hi all, I was recently diagnosed HIV and started atripla a month ago (cd4 257, vL 276000) now I'm coming down with common cold. Before the diagnosis I used echinacea caps and it used to help greatly, shortening the duration of the cold. I've read conflicting reports about it. Does anybody use it for common cold or upper respiratory infection ?
Diagnosed 11/9/14
Cd4 257 % 12.9 vL 276037
Started generic truvada, Sustiva 11/24/14
Cd4 641 % 18.4 vL UD 2/4/15

If you do a quick Google search you will find things like this . http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22869560

Always talk to your doctor and or pharmacist before you take supplements . Hope this helps a little .
