It doesn't surprise me.  It seems like everything is bad for us these days.

On a side note, yesterday I noticed an article that was titled something along the lines of "Cool Trick You Can Do With Mountain Dew!"

It seems if you leave 1/4 amount of the drink in the bottle and add a little vinegar and baking soda you can make your own glow stick.   I did think it was a little cool, but I also wondered what the hell is in this stuff.

I don't know if glow sticks have changed much since I was a kid, but they always told us not to eat them.

From a nutrition class at UC Santa Cruz in the 70's, I remember if you eat a balanced diet, processed vitamins will not be needed.   Recently, I took a list of foods I ate during an entire month to a Nutritionist at UCSF who said my diet was balanced but I should eat more.  Being 20 lbs underweight for 17 years is normal for me.  I do take Vitamin D-3, C-1000, Dry E-400 daily along with my 81mg aspirin.  Then we have the Gabapentin for getting old, the Pravastatin for stress, and lisinopril for cholesterol.  All this just to get old...  Then in addition, the pills that are the star of the Midnight Medication Ceremonies at my house are the Prezista, Truvada and Norvir (which is to be taken with food).  With all these pills, how does the Norvir know if you took it with food because the stomach is full.

I read that prostate problems are common in men with symptoms appearing as early as age 50.  Having had an anal wart removal procedure, I get follow up visits every 6 to 9 months for an exam and my Oncologist who is making movies on location (apologies to Dire Straits) confirms my prostate is healthy.

Being over 50, I am still concerned...  There is a lame cable TV program to sell a prostate product.  There is a panel of men over 50 who are selected to tell their personal stories.  Each one is employed in sales, marketing, and advertising probably from the company selling the product.  One panel member talks of being at a urinal and hearing the interrupted pee stream from the guy next to him and strikes up a conversation about it with the man at the urinal.  The panel finishes, some scientific information is displayed onscreen to find this miracle cure has Zinc in it.  I will probably add Zinc to my supplements.

I did try Omega-3 fish oil, it was recommended to freeze and I finished 1 bottle (years ago)and I never refilled.  The most valuable lesson today is how to make glow sticks with Mountain Dew.     8)  Have the best day

Yes,
Be sure to use the right amount of the BS and vinegar. (I think it would be about 1/2 cup of each ;D.)
PS- Make sure someone takes a pic.
