The only way to know your status is to test.  Testing guidelines suggest a test at 6 weeks past the last possible incident and then at 12 weeks to confirm the result.  You can test now to determine your status.

There is no shortcut to knowing your status.  Nobody can predict what your risk may have been.  Your lymph nodes hurt because you keep poking at them.  Leave them alone and they will stop hurting.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start.  As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV.  Some of the other STDs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

Hii everyone..
I'm a guy of age 23 from India.. I can not stop crying since an incident that happened to Me 8 weeks ago.. .
I had a unprotected vaginal sex with a girl I was dating. After 2-3 weeks I started having boils on my face.. Then few days later I had mouth ulcers and had a two day's low grade fever at evening 99-100 F..till then I was not horrified of HIV and then I started feeling severe nausea.. And then a thought of HIV came into my mind.. I also was feeling high feverish and week all the time.. I prayed to God everytime and rushed to a doctor for nausea and feverish feeling.. Doctor suggested me to go for abdominal ultrasound and I found malrotated kidney and some pancreas infection.. Chronic pancrititis assumption.. Then my doctor gave me medicines which I started and had a relief of nausea and feverish feeling for 2 weeks.. I also  had joint pain and body pain in these two weeks and had few rashes on my hand and feet.. I had 80% relief from these medicines and then my doctor changed my medicines and suggested me for a test of tuberculosis (TB) ..because my mother and brother already had it once.. I was fearing if HIV and thus I went for a test of HIV after 6 weeks (45 days )...I don't know which test was it.. They took my blood sample and used my blood serum for the test..They looked for antibodies against HIV virus.. They gave me result after two hours which was negative...
It's 8 weeks now and O'Neill still fearing of HIV.. I can't sleep at night.. I can't talk to anybody..
Please guys help me out..
How reliable this 7th week test is?
Do my symptoms relate to HIV??

Please only post in this one thread no matter how long between visits or the subject matter . You can find this thread by going to your profile and selecting show own post and it will take you here . It helps us to help you when you keep all your thoughts or questions in one thread and it helps other readers to follow the discussion. Additional threads will be merged.

A negative 6 week test rarely ever changes so you should expect a negative result at 13 weeks when you confirm the results. Your symptoms are not specific to HIV so if you are sick go see your doctor again to find out why ... if it was HIV causing it you would be positive by now and you tested negative. Just confirm your test at 13 and fully expect a negative result, a negative result is what I expect for you.
