LAPSE OF JUDGEMENT, VERY WORRIED. AM I AT RISK
« on: August 01, 2014, 04:16:39 AM »
I know I have been told on this forum what to do to avoid HIV,  but now I made a regrettable mistake. Two days ago I was  with a CSW. I took her to my apartment but did not have a condom. So we agreed not to have sex. However, during the foreplay, she was completely nude and I had only my boxer on. She gave me quite  some grinding being careful not to penetrate. However for some lapse of judgment I stroked her  vagina with my penis  a couple of times with my boxer on.  Don't think I penetrated her as I had my underwear on  but my penis end under the boxer stroked her vagina entrance a couple of times. She was not really very wet but am worried if some of her vaginal fluid with hiv may have passed through the underwear and infect me.
She also gave me some unprotected orals.

Three days  later, I noticed  about 4 pin-sized clear fluid filled blisters on my penis shaft.  Now am terrified.
We did a hiv test later with Alere determine HIV antibody test and she was negative.  My worry is what if she is in the window period.

Am I at risk here and do I need HIV testing for this.
Many thanks

No, you do not need to test, you did not have a risk.  Since you did not have actual sexual intercourse, there was not a risk, and receiving oral sex is never a risk. A female's fluids that are infectious are cervico-vaginal fluid; this comes from way up in the vagina.  So even if there was some "vaginal" fluid that got on your penis, it is unlikely it was this type of fluid (cervico-vaginal).

Even if it was the infectious fluid, unless you had an open sore on your penis, it was not a risk.  The blisters you are experiencing are most likely a symptom of something else.  You need to see your doctor if it does not clear and have a full STI check up.

Since you said you have been told previously what is and is not a risk activity, I will not go into it again.  I'm assuming that means you were told to use condoms every time for vaginal and anal intercourse until you are in a monogamous relationship and you two go test for HIV, and other STI's, together.

So again, you did not have a risk and do not need to test for HIV.

Thankyou so much Betty. But I forgot to mention that I had another concern on the same incident.  I had my finger pricked with lancet for finger prick blood test like 5 hours before the act.  Now I used the same finger to finger her forgetting that It was pricked with lancet 5 hours ago..
How risky will this be. Can HIV virus force its way up the tiny lancet hole made about 5 hours ago.
I hard pressed the finger after the act if there will be blood but cant squeeze out any. Hope the hole is fully closed before the fingering.

 Not easy to be careful.

Menka, no this was not a risk.  I use lancets myself to check my blood sugar (I am also diabetic), so I know that this wound closes quickly.  Once a wound closes, there is not a risk.  Since your finger was not open and bleeding, there was no risk.

Dear great moderators, your advice are always well informed and stand the test of time.

Am asking this on behalf of a friend who does not have access to internet ( due to his present location) but was able to confide in me via telephone what he is presently passing through. Extreme anxiety. He had a play with a girl of unknown status and did not want to have sex without condom. Both of them were naked.  He rubbed his penis on the outside of the vagina but foolishly he also touched the tip of the vagina entrance with his penis end a couple of times. But he did not have real penetration / sex. The fear now is he is sure he's penis end may have touched the vaginal fluid.

Any risk of HIV from this and does he need testing.

Nothing your friend did put him at risk for HIV infection.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific healthcare situations.

HIV is also a very fragile virus that instantly becomes damaged and unable to infect once outside the host.  Vaginal fluid is not infectious so your friend had no risk and has no need to test over this incident.
