Meningitis question
« on: April 20, 2013, 08:13:23 AM »
I saw my ID Dr yesterday.  About 2 weeks ago I started having some bad neck pain.  I have used icyhot and that helps along with a heating pad when I sleep at night.  It does give me a bad headache sometimes but that has gotten better along with the pain.  I think I just slept wrong and pulled a muscle as it seems to be getting better.  My Dr did mention possible meningitis but doesnt really think it is that since my CD4 is above 200.  I don't think it is meningitis either because that is scary and people die from it.  She wants me to see how I am feeling after a couple more days and then get tested. I guess I am just asking what others think?

Hi Jaace24 , Anyone can get meningitis , not just us with HIV . Meningitis is such a terrible thing , I know because I have had it , so I'm sure your doctors would have checked you right away if all of your symptoms were to fit . I'm glad to hear your doctor is going to follow up on it either way .

I feel for you either way , I have had a pinched muscle in my neck before too and it was  unrelenting pain .
