Please assess my risk.
« on: February 16, 2015, 07:31:32 AM »
Hi Jeff, Joe K, Ann, Andy, jknatl, rapidrod

In 11 January I have encountered CSW. These are my questions, hopefully you can give your assessment.

1. I am not sure the quality of the condom, as the CSW provide it. Considered it is low quality latex, is it provide the same protection as the quality one?

2. She has braces, does this can create tear that i dont realized?

3. She also use lube, but i am not sure if it is oil based pr water based. Does it matter as long as the condom dont break?

4. But the most important thing, i am not sure if the condom break or not. After she vaginal intercourse, before she removed the condom, the condom look wrinked and bunched up at the penis tip, is this sign of break? Or is it normal?

5. After he removed the condom, my penis look wet, and i am not sure if this her vaginal fluid or my precum.

6. If she failed to pinch the condom tips, wiil the condom burst at the top only or huge rips will take place?

7. Does all latex condom breakage will produce hula skirt form?

Please I am depressed so much by this situation. I hope u guys can assess my risk and sorry for my english. It is not my native tongue.

You guys take care and have a great day. Just want to know I admired u guys who are poz. You guys have such a great strength!  :)

An intact condom means no risk.  Condoms are designed so that there is no question when they fail: they shred.  It does not matter if she had braces or the type of lube used, as long as the condom was intact.  Your other questions do not matter as the condom was intact.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start.  As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV.  Some of the other STDs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you very much.

But still, i am not sure the condom was intact or not, even the low quality condom will shred if they failed?

And also , I know symptoms is useless in assesing the risk, but I am having chills, some itchy rash, loss in appetite past 3 weeks of event. If this is hiv seroconversion symptom, will i test positive at hiv rapid test past 30 days past exposure?

I already test past 30 days hiv rapid test, and it comes out negative.

We do not discuss symptoms because they a re not specific to HIV and could be from anything . As Joe advised, you had protected sex and would have known if the condom broke. If you are uneasy then go test, it will be negative if this is your only concern .

Thank you jeff.

But 2 last questions,

If the symtoms i have at 3 week is hiv symptom, i would test positive right at my 30 days past exposure? Or the body still didnt produce enough antibody to be detected in test?

And even assume the condom I used is low quality latex, does it provide same protection?

Please answer this as this is my last post, and do u think i need to test. Thank you jn advance. Have a nice day!

You never had a risk to test for in this instance ... you can learn about HIV testing and window periods here ... http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/HIVtests_5029.shtml
