What a dilema.
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:43:45 PM »
I talk to my mommy several times a week, and once a week when I call she hands the phone to Grandma and tells her it's for her and we usually talk for about half an hour.  I called her the other night and we talked then grandma said "well here's your mom", I then heard her tell mommy that someone was on the phone and she wasn't sure who it was.  When mommy got on the phone she said for me to call her back when I was done crying.  I have always been close to my Grandma, and have written several essays in my schooling about her being my hero.

Now her stupid alzheimers is making her forget me.  This is the first time it has happened, and I know it will not be the last.  I also know that it was bound to happen sooner or later, (although I would prefer much later, like her funeral).

My plans were to go to Chicago in August and then go to FLorida in December to visit mommy, stepdaddy and Grandma for 3 weeks.  I was going to drive because I was going to make a pit stop in Texas to visit some family.

Tonight when I talked to mommy my grandma was fine, she even remembered talking to me the other night.

My dilema is I am now wondering if I should go to Florida in August instead of Chicago so I can visit with  Grandma while she still remembers me.  Granted it would only be for a week and not 2 or so that was originally planned.

It would be plenty of time for us to do stuff, and have one last Grandma, Granddaughter day together.  Something I remember always doing with her whenever we would live in the same state.

I guess I have about 2 months to decide which one I want to do.

On a funny note when I talked to mommy tonight Grandma asked her to ask me if I was married again yet and when was I going to give her a great-grandkid.  I just laughed and told her to tell grandma no, and no way would the kid thing happen.
