Hey guys,

I tested poz a few weeks ago with my doctor and have just recently gotten my CD4 and VL numbers. Which are 430 CD4 and 90550 VL. My specialist says I am fine, she prescribed me Stribild (1 a day) and said that my CD4 should be back to normal within a year and my VL will most likely be under 20 when in a few months.

I followed up with my regular physician and he also told me I am fine but did make a comment that my VL is pretty high and should start taking meds asap (I'm just waiting for my insurance to kick in).

Can I get an honest opinion from someone? Will I be fine? Obviously there's alot of fear with me. I am 25 years and perfectly healthy (and never get sick). I just recently gotten HPV in my anal area. My doc also said the hospital might not treat me until my VL gets lower.

I know I'm asking a lot but if someone would be kind enough to help a slightly damaged soul return back on track to the beautiful life I'd be very grateful  :)

My honest is opinion is you are going to better than just fine , I'm predicting you are going to live a long happy life . I was diagnosed with HIV at a younger age than you and I will soon be 51 . You have a lot of living to do so I suggest you plan for a bright future and it wouldn't hurt to open a retirement account if you haven't already done so .

I wish I had planned for retirement but 30 years ago it would have been considered a bad joke to suggest I would ever have need of one .

Wow that is amazing. I am glad to hear that you're still around and healthy for so long. Kudos to that. Your words really motivated me and I will look into that retirement account lol.

Slightly off-topic (well not really), since my HPV (Anal wartz) can't be treated right away because I need to me on meds, how likely and fast does HPV get to one day cause cancer... ? If anyone knows about the topic

Your doctor is correct , its best to let the meds do the work to get you undetectable and your viral load up so as to go into treatment for HPV with a strengthened immune system . You are not in immanent danger for HPV related cancer and your doctors are monitoring you for it anyway , patience is the key .

It's generally very slow.
