Please Help...Worried to death!
« on: February 19, 2013, 05:07:07 PM »
Okay...where to start,

Several years ago I was exposed to the herpes virus causing outbreaks on my mouth and genital area.  Over time the outbreaks have become less painful and less frequent.

So here is the thing, about 6.5 weeks ago I had PROTECTED sex with an older guy who claimed to be "clean" (I am 19...I was the top and he was the bottom). 4-5mins into penetration he started to bleed on my genital area. There wasn't much blood at all....just a couple drops. I have not had a herpes breakout in awhile but there are scars on my genital from past breakouts. I have read that hiv can be contracted from cracks and breaks in the skin. So my question is, what exactly is a "break" in the skin, and if he were infected, what are the chances his bloody fluids seeped into my bloodstream???

Also, after the incident I immediately ran to the shower and washed my genital with soap and hot water and cleansed it with rubbing alcohol. After that I left...he did not CUM!

Thinking about this is driving me crazy! A week after the incident I did a Oraquick test and tested negative; however, then I realized the test wouldn't matter anyway because of the length of time.

Since the incident I have had no symptoms of ARS, including: fever, swollen grands, rashes/sores.

Though, my anxiety symptoms are driving me crazy...I have had trouble sleeping, loss of apatite, mild headaches, mild nausea, and mild neck and shoulder tension. These symptoms are not consistent, the come and go as my anxiety levels rise and fall.

PLEASE HELP...this is seriously affecting my life!

Your condom protected your urethra, which is the vulnerable spot on the insertive partner. Your imperfect skin is not a material factor in your protection. Your sex was protected.

Also, I took a shower today. I am clean. I am also HIV positive. Please try not to use that term, as it implies that people with HIV are dirty.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
