Squirt of Serendipity!
« on: October 10, 2006, 08:24:49 PM »
I walked around for a good while this afternoon, enjoying the last bit of clear skies before they started to resemble dirty asphalt. Raindrops started pounding the sidewalk almost as fast as my feet were when I started running to my car. A two toned red and silver 97 Chevy Cavalier…a lady killer, no doubt.

Driving down 31, my radio turned up and blaring Tom Jones’ “Sex Bomb” (Hey I never said I had good taste in music), I noticed that the car next to me kept speeding up when I did and slowing down at the same rate.  So when I got to a robot (stoplight), I was a little nervous.  They wanted to race! I got into my zone as these little twerps in their BMW looked me up and down. Stephano ( my Cav. Yes, I named him) revved and got ready to leave this pansy car in his dust.  The light turned green! IT’S ON! Hasta la vista, bubela.

Occide, verbera, ure! Kill, beat, burn!

I look in the rearview mirror only to see that they had run out of gas and puttered out. Being the softy that I pretend to be, I go back and see if they need help…a cell phone…a gas tank….ect.  Of course they don’t need MY help. Whatever.

I get to work about 10 minutes early, just enough time to store away my lunch and  coat. I pass my manager, about 5 other employees and a dozen or so customers. Completely un noticed. I could have trotted by like a unicorn in pajamas and they wouldn’t have noticed me. Have you ever had a day where you feel completely invisible so you just do weird little random things to see if anyone notices? I did today.  I threw a stapler into the middle of the meeting room. No one noticed. I wore a tape bow on my head. No one noticed. I’m pretty sure that for a good 20 minutes I didn’t even speak English. However….when I go to leave they need me for EVERYTHING.Excelsior!

Jenn,
Here is what some of the girls who work with me say about the subject.  I remember well Aurélie, blonde, blue eyes and tall complaining that whenever she wore a dress, gown, skirt and, especially, a mini-skirt everyone would suddenly be more attentive with her.  Needless to say, the men did look at her on those days and searched desperately for a little flirt...
On the other hand, Emmanuelle, brunette, balck eyes and not so tall was always grumbling about the way guys "ignored" her whenever she wore pants! However, when she did wear a lovely dress and/or skirt she would not pass unnoticed!
As for me, I think that it is a pity that girls/ladies today have a tendency to look too masculine.  There is nothing more ravishing and  graceful than a well-dressed woman... Especially when they put their hair up!

Hugs,
Val

Val,

It's funny you say that...I just bought a new dress yesterday....I'm at work right now (manager is out of the office today and the girls here don't care either way. It's my laptop anyway) and I was actually noticed...I don't know if it was the dress or the fact that I yelled "HEY EVERYONE...GUESS WHO'S HERE?" when I came into work this morning.  Thank you for the lovely story=)

Hey J,

The title of this thread sounds like a porn movie.

Maybe Parker Posey is in it though.

Vroom, vroom,
