He doesn't need to add salt to things because it's already loaded with salt when he pulls out the drive through or takes something out of a frozen box.

I remember because I tried the recipe although I eliminated the elephant, rabbit, salt and switched water for the gravy.  :)

Since MissP is only slightly older than me, I had to learn all her tricks.  How else will I dethrone her?

I'm 47, you're 47. The only trick you need to learn is arithmetic.

Of course I did.  I never miss Andy's show and to see that hot cast prancing around shirtless...WOW
Jax really isn't the hottest one though.  He has a great body, but his age is showing a bit of wear and tear.  Unlike some of us.

Every notice how Wumpy's threads always lead back to food, sex or a combination of both?

but his age is showing a bit of wear and tear.

His bio says he's 29 though in one scene on the show I think his friends referred to him as 33, but whatever. Perfect age as far as I'm concerned as he doesn't look like some twinkie fairy like the other guy.

When did you morph into a sad ageist along the lines of Theodore?

Uhh no. If you could read at even a third grade level you would notice that I stated " I use salt...only if need be in cooking".  This recipe above qualifies as "in cooking". And in this particular recipe salt is mandatory because of the 2 rabbits.

So how do you not ingest salt if it's used in cooking?  Another caveat to your lack of using salt?

When did you morph into a sad ageist along the lines of Theodore?

Not ageist, just a point of view that his hard partying lifestyle is taking a toll.  I think he looks much older than he really is.  Be it 29 or 39.  That said, I'd definitely take a ride on the Jax Express. ;D

Seriously? You REALLY need to attend a remedial reading comprehension class at your local community college. Where do I say "I do not ingest salt" in this statement..

Look girl, you don't add salt "at the table" because all you eat is take out and drive through. Nobody is impressed with your sodium intake claim. It's laughable.

I bet that BBQ sauce (of which there is too much) is swimming in sodium. And such mayo overkill with both potato salad and cole slaw. Weren't there other choices?

Note: please keep you food pictures in the appropriate Nutrition thread thankuverymuch

I know enough to tell you that East Carolina style BBQ is superior, that's what. And if you'd ever exhibited one ounce of food knowledge during your years here extolling faux-tacos via Cairo we might be able to have a sane discussion, but alas that is not nor ever will be the case.

Well duh. But I am not the one making any claims here about my sodium intake so kindly turn off the self-projection and worry about yours.

I'm gonna report this pitiful thread so that it is merged with the "Nutrition" topic.  Who does La Wumpetta think that she is to have two separate threads about the same bullshit?

Most Southerners will tell you that BBQ=pork, not beef. The only ones that disagree are the ones that think cowboy boots are Southern.

I'm gonna report this pitiful thread so that it is merged with the "Nutrition" topic.  Who does La Wumpetta think that she is to have two separate threads about the same bullshit?

It's all the blow she used to do in the gay clubs so she wasn't forced to contemplate the vagina waiting for her at home. Swelled up her head and lowered an already low IQ.

That's a good point about going off on a (gratuitous) food tangent in this thread. It's in the Living section and about a subject which many of our newer members may need guidance on.

That guidance really doesn't include photos or details of specific meals - meals they shouldn't be eating before fasting bloods anyway.

Start posting your food stuff back in the Off Topic thread, please. If I have time tomorrow I might just split some of this thread out and stick it in the other thread.

Please try to remember what forum you're posting in, guys.

Thanks. ;)

Thanks. ;)

Do I need to remind you of what was said earlier -- even though you tried to be sly and say that you were totally conscious as you were getting pricked:

Girl are you striving to be like Kris Kardashian?  You already have one thread about food.  It is not all about you on these forums.

To get this thread back on track if they're doing a free testosterone test you're required to fast for 14 hours beforehand.  Everyone seemed to be saying you don't need to fast but it depends on which type of test they're doing.

Now why would you reckon I speak with a southern accent? ;)  Ohio River folk have their own dialect.  Not quite southern and definitely not yank.

The only announciation issues I have are any words ending in with a G.  I first became aware of it after a Powerpoint presentation in college when my grade was lowered because of it.  My only grade appeal ever and it was reversed by the dean after a powerful discussion.

You do not need to fast for a blood draw for testosterone, get it taken AM if possible, when your testosterone will be at its highest highest.

See:

http://www.labtestsonline.org.uk/understanding/analytes/testosterone/tab/sample

Fasting for cholesterol and blood glucose is sometimes requested but not essential except in specific circumstances, eg a previous unfasted test is alarming, special investigations indicated. The only exception here could be triglycerides, which are recommended tested when fasted. Which means it might make practical sense to fast before testing for cholesterol if they do the blood draw for several tests all in one session.

My rule of thumb is to get all test done at the same time of day, under the same food conditions, otherwise you can't establish a trend that's worth looking at. At my GP this is always first thing AM, at clinic after lunch. My cholesterol and blood glucose are always higher at clinic but not significantly.

Coffee/tea without milk or sugar are not food and do not count as breaking a fast. It's fat, sugar or protein (erm, bacon) that count here.

Hope the nurse is kind with the needle.

I bumped this, after reading this article today.  The study isn't perfect, but still interesting.

I've gotten in the habit of fasting for 12 hours before any of my bloodwork, even if it isn't required.

My ID doc prints the blood work forms and they have a barcode for the collection facility (I use the one at the hospital since they accept my insurance, plus the results are in the system for my next visit a week later).

If you aren't sure, just ask. My ID doc is really good that way, I have called and he has called back that same day after office hours.
