Doctor visit
« on: October 27, 2014, 08:57:06 PM »
I went to the doctor today and learned that I can start treatment because my viral load is too low

T cell : 532

Viral load : 165 ( corrected load)

I asked my doctor about nonprogressors but he cannot determine that I am one yet.
I did tell him why is it so low. Isn't it usual for the load to be high after immediate infection?

I don't understand at all

Those are some envious numbers you have there . Did you mean to say your canít start meds because of your good numbers ? I am asking if your meant to type canít instead of can ?

I think you meant cannot start treatment instead of can...

He probably wants to wait until your VL 500 or more in order to do a resistance test.  You went up 140 points in a couple of weeks, has he scheduled another blood draw?

You're in good shape, so focus on that.  Some people can have a VL of 100, others 100,000.  I think I saw you post that you couldn't be sure when you were infected, so don't worry about what's normal, the numbers and how they change over time are different for everyone.

Yes I meant I can't.

Actually he made a mistake.

165 is the correct number

And not 25.

As Shep shared, you are in pretty good shape and what matters is your health and not when you were infected . If you have been poz awhile the numbers are excellent, so lets be happy .

Seems we should start an official 'Low VL at Diagnosis' thread.  This is I think the third person that I've read with extremely low numbers.

Congrats man, hope things continue this way for ya!

BASS,

I agree with everyone else that your numbers are wonderful.

You have every reason to:
